August 11, 201015 yr Yay for Alesha, Example and McFly being added. :) Shocked at Stromae - I don't love it, but it's alright. Glad for Katy moving up to B aswell. :)
August 11, 201015 yr Author Hope Dre doesn't mind me posting, he doesn't seem to be online at the moment and it's a brilliant week! So much right with this playlist, Saturdays up to A, along with Inna, Katy B jumping from C to A :o :o :o Big smash on the way? And the newies are all fantastic! Alesha, Example, McFly (!), some random South African rap act (beat Locnville to it there!) and of course, Stromae :woohoo: Should be a huge smash now, I suspected they might have been waiting for Yolanda to drop off to playlist it, two foreign songs might have been a bit too much :kink:
August 11, 201015 yr Stromae :o Wasn't Katy B only C-List last week? I hope it's massive, dubstep needs a proper hit (I Need Air doesn't count, that wasn't proper dubstep)
August 11, 201015 yr Author Yay for Alesha, Example and McFly being added. :) Shocked at Stromae - I don't love it, but it's alright. Glad for Katy moving up to B aswell. :) I guess all signs pointed towards it being added any time now, Radio 1 have been hammering it more than any other not yet playlisted song in the last week or so...part of me's still shocked though, I'm presuming it's the original being playlisted and not the Erik Hassle version (love him but not really a fan of his take on it) as there's no mention of it being anything other than the original and that's what they've played the most already
August 11, 201015 yr Also, that Die Antwoord song is just ANNOYING. However, Bray fully endorses songs about ninjas, annoying or not. I get a nagging feeling they're only being playlisted because of the World Cup though, what with it popularising South African stuff. And that Labrinth song will be huge, he's on SyCo so perhaps he'll appear on the X Factor? Edited August 11, 201015 yr by BJBB Bray
August 11, 201015 yr That noise by Alesha is playlisted yet Shontelle is snubbed. -_- And McFly is playlisted? Proof that R1 aren't cool.
August 11, 201015 yr Brilliant week this week. Very pleasing to see Alesha getting support, and Katy B, Taio, Pretty Reckless & The Sats up to the A-List.
August 11, 201015 yr Very, VERY good additions this week! I can say 'yay' for all of them apart from 'Enter The Ninja' which I didn't hear. Very happy for Alesha and Stromae especially as they both need Radio 1 rotation because barely anyone apart from Radio1 will play these songs, other stations will only jump the bandwagon when/if these two songs become hits. August 11, 201015 yr Finally Radio 1 are playlisting more different types of genres I was getting so bored of The constant Indie/Alternative stuff. Fantastic news for The Saturdays and Alesha, I hated Drummer boy to begin with but I have to say I Love it now. It could go either way though, be a HUGE hit or a top 20 falling out quickly. I hope it's the former though. Slightly off topic.. The Saturdays are really doing well I was gutted at first about them not reaching #1 but when looking at the sales side it's a promising start for them. Plus Headlines seems to be doing well on HMV and on Itunes..So it's a good Era for them so far and I'm glad Radio 1 are stil playlisting them to be honest.
August 11, 201015 yr Additions wise, I'm happy for Stromae, as well as for The Script and Alesha, although I'm not that much into those two. I gave a first listen to Katy B, this is quite ... different. I think I like it. Where does she come from ?? The song sounds like something the Sugababes 1.0 would have released, which is a good thing. Can't believe the Pretty Reckless are up to the A-list, it's just a lot of noise. BOO for scrapping 'The writer' already.
August 11, 201015 yr Others have already posted their token Stromae :o post. Here's mine: * Alors On Danse - Stromae  Grab that A list smash!!! :D :w00t:

I hope it's massive, dubstep needs a proper hit (I Need Air doesn't count, that wasn't proper dubstep) Not heard this Katy B song but I'm interesting in this purely from its C-list to A-list "promotion". Speaking of dubstep, there's a young 17 year old lad who's recently joined the company where I work in my department. We've instantly started getting on really well because we both love music. I asked what music he liked and he said "have you heard of dubstep". My reply; "oh, I've not heard of them". :drama: I didn't know it was a genre. Flop music lover!!! :( He's introduced me to Caspa who is his fave artist at the moment. Edited August 11, 201015 yr by Hitstastic

Sorry, but that made me laugh. I'm not a huge fan of dubstep, but it does seem to be very popular amongst teenage boys. I get force-fed it at school a lot. Happy for Labrinth too. I've heard it on Galaxy a lot, and it's a nice song. Edited August 11, 201015 yr by Eric_Blob
August 11, 201015 yr Excellent to see Dynamite A list- that will only increase anticipation :D looks like Linkin Park, McFly and Strmae could all be surprise hits High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive - Pulled Apart By Horses- I think dubstep is a rising genre- Magnetic Man did something very unexpected by going top 10, and sooner or later, there could actually be a dubstep number 1 Edited August 11, 201015 yr by chart wizard

Magnetic Man could be seen as 'visionaries' I suppose :kink: Nah, not really.
