August 25, 201014 yr Cheryl Tweedy-Cole  Glad she's sticking with Cole. Tweedy sounds chavy, and going by Cheryl only would be too much of a diva. Cheryl Cole and everybody continues to love her.
September 3, 201014 yr I would say Ashley Cole has been famous for much much longer than Cheryl, although he has never been AS huge as Cheryl is now. So it's sort of unfair to compare them. However, the surname 'Cole' is almost certainly more associated with Ashley and football I'd say.

September 14, 201014 yr Author Maybe the album title will be "Cheryl Cole" to show she is keeping the name. People i know still think she is going to change her name to Tweedy. Edited September 14, 201014 yr by Jmh123
April 8, 201213 yr Here we go again... Cheryl Cole has reportedly decided to drop her surname in her professional life. The singer, whose new single 'Call My Name' will debut later this month, will simply be known as Cheryl when she releases her new material. "Cheryl is beginning a new chapter in her life so she doesn't want to be associated with negative stuff from the past," a source told The Sun. "She's not removing Cole legally, it's just a career statement. She's in a really good place at the moment and wants to take life by the balls. She can't wait to start performing live again and her new stage name has given her comeback an extra bit of spice." Cheryl divorced husband Ashley in 2010 following numerous claims that he had cheated on her, although they were apparently briefly reconciled last summer. The 'Fight For This Love' star had previously decided to keep her marital name following the couple's initial split after being inspired by Tina Turner. She also felt the most successful period of her career had been under the name Cole. From Digital Spy.
April 8, 201213 yr I don't mind either way, but it creates an iTunes dilemma! Do I tag her new material as Cheryl or Cheryl Cole
April 8, 201213 yr I don't mind either way, but it creates an iTunes dilemma! Do I tag her new material as Cheryl or Cheryl Cole  I'm keeping it as Cheryl Cole, whatever she releases under. Having said that, I have Billie Piper's first album as Billie and the second album as her full name...
April 8, 201213 yr I'm so OCD with crediting, Billie Piper's full name is used for both albums on my iTunes, and Cheryl's will be the same even if officially she is known as 'Cheryl'. It would be the same if say Tulisa decided to add her second name, I'd still keep subsequent releases as 'Tulisa' just lke Young is labelled, even if officially everything was credited to 'Tulisa Constavolos'.

Tell me about it. Billie has caused me problems in the past, as have S Club 7/S Club, S Club Juniors/S Club 8, Geri Halliwell/Geri, Emma Bunton/Emma and Nadine/Nadine Coyle. I wish these people would make their bloody minds up.

I wish these people would make their bloody minds up. I've just got S Club 7 and S Club separate on my iPod, as with S Club Juniors and S Club 8. Nadine's just going under her first name, and Emma Bunton is going under her full name. Don't have Geri Halliwell on my iPod. :P Not as bad as Amy Studt now going by Mercy Made Me...
April 8, 201213 yr Off topic I know but I have all S Club 7 songs as S Club 7 oddly although I have S Club 8 and S Club Juniors seperate. The two songs I have of Geri Halliwell (Ride It and Desire) are under her full name, same for all the Emma songs I have. Amy Studt and Mercy Made Me is SO annoying but as it's a full change I have them seperately.
April 8, 201213 yr As much as I understand why she wants to do it, and Cole's a c**t, Cheryl Cole is the name when she made it and became a household name so I definitely think she should keep it. I'd prefer Cheryl Tweedy rather than just Cheryl tbh.

People will always think of her as "Cheryl Cole".
