I wonder will his song be featured in the worldwide release or just the British one? If it's written by Carrie Underwood I can see her performing it on the American release.

It seems that different artists are doing it for different countries:

USA - Carrie

UK - Joe

Sweden - E.M.D

Australia - Stan Walker

Italy - Sonohra

But according to wikipedia, 'Someone Wake Me Up' will be on the soundtrack worldwide :o

The most predictable flop artist of all time, the minute he won a flop was inevitable. Poor kid, he's still lived the dream for a short while 'ey.

Does anyone care anymore? Poor BRAVE Joe though, the complete non-response to the video so far sort of tells it all really. I like the song, but I wouldnt really consider it one of my favourites from the (very very good actually) album.

Joe McElderry & Syco both trending on twitter

Just had a look and all I can see is 100's of tweets either saying "The winners never do well" "OMG Joe has been dropped :(" "Joe is supporting Jedward on tour LOL" or "He'll find another label. Syco is crap"

This was a couple of weeks ago but someone on DS had posted he'd been dropped then someone else replied that he tweeted he hadn't. So I'm guessing he's actually been dropped then :( Shame, but tbf it was inevitable a week or two after Ambitions release...
How typical of rubbish Syco, I should have known they had a big press release praising Simon Cowell this week and all his money and they left out Joe and Shayne who I think will be next for the chop-get out Alex and Leona while you still can.
He was never going to be big, said from the stage hes stage show material at best.
Yes. Joe McElderry has been dropped, and is supporting Jedward on tour. HILARIOUS.

REALLY! Sorry but that is hilarious! I loved the album, but you just couldn't make that up! Oh I love it...

I can't help but  it was inevitable though- he just wasn't a popstar, I knew it ever since he won - maybe he can make some money in theatre

I said this all along that whilst Joe was a technically excellent singer, he wasn't a "popstar" and his vocals are far too theatrical.

Joe will do well in the West End. All he needs now is training and he might prove to be a decent actor as well. He's got the talent, it just needs nurturing properly - something Syco are hopeless at.

Is Joe really supporting Jedward? :manson: The thought of a Jedward concert makes me feel ill. :(

Yeah, Joe seemed so nice on the X Factor, and he's a greater singer too. I agree though, I always imagined seeing him in plays and stuff.

An inevitability really. Like has been said, he has a nice voice and everything but he was always more suited to musical theater more than anything. A part of me thought he might be able to scrape a second album but there was never a great deal of that happening.

I'm fairly certain him supporting Jedward isnt actually true, though it would be rather tragically hilarious.

How awful if he has been forced to do this.

No ones forcing him lol

You don't know that with the record label the X Factor stars sign too. They seem to be like walking robots with the contract not allowing them to do anything without permission.

From DS -

Joe McElderry has signed a new record deal with Universal Music.

The former X Factor champion closed the deal following his victory on Sunday night's Popstar to Operastar final.

McElderry will release an album of 'classic songs' on August 22, which will include covers of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', 'Nessun Dorma' and 'I Dreamed A Dream', say reports.

"My new album is a snapshot of where I am today and I am excited about the opportunity to record and perform some of this amazing repertoire," McElderry explained.

The 20-year-old singer was dropped from Simon Cowell's Syco record label earlier this year following disappointing sales of his debut album Wide Awake, which reached number three on the UK chart last November.

Good for Joe, he needs to stick to old fashioned classic songs his voice is well suited to that.It is probably what he should have done in the first place, hope he does well.
