but isn't Cheryl rumored to be performing 'The Flood' on X Factor?

Wow, astonished at that. Where are the rumours emanating from Jonjo?

It's over from Digitalspy I think. (So PLEASE take with several pinches of salt lol) but they seem to be getting heavier...
Well, we'll all have to wait and see if she does then, won't we? I honestly believe Cheryl will pull it off vocally (if the rumours are true!). She's actually really good at ballads, live. :)

One of the main reasons Will Young has had such a long & successful career is because he distanced hiself from Cowell early on. It's yet to be seen how well Cowell supports his female artists in the future.

It depends on which male act wins, Olly is doing really well, JLS are doing really really well (both second!) and Will Young did okay for himself.

This really makes me laugh. Olly & JLS are seen as huge successes & Will has just done ok. Which of these has been around for almost 9 years & has sold 4.5million albums in the UK & wasn't it Olly Murs & Alexandra that were supporting Will at the Mercedes Benz concert this year. Just because Will doesn't do well in the singles chart because he doesn't receive the radio support of the more recent artists from X Factor doesn't mean he isn't still very successful.

I really feel for Joe. Kept away from releasing for a year to come back with a cover. Cowell either has no interest or is totally clueless. It doesn't take a genius to work out who was voting for Joe so why give him a single that is totally alien to his target audience.

Promise This will shoot to #1 well before x factor so she'll be #1 with or without it. She will be performing Promise This though.

IMO Promise This will sell far less than FFTL though - it's a far weaker song.

Yeah, she was actually good at the CIN Rocks the RAH concert last year at the ballad she sang with some bloke.

Of course it will, it doesn't have the hype or the message in the song that FFTL did.

It'll still easily be #1 - if its not I'll eat my foot.

I dont think it is a male winner/female winner issue. It is purely the quality of the song and strength of the song which will determine how well the act will do.Bleeding Love was a brilliant choice for Leona and Bad Boys was something stand-out for Alex.Joe has been sold short with a poor song that his voice is just not suited to.It will be a shame if his team choose to clutch at straws for why the song has not done well as there lack of effort is the real reason.

It's nothing to do with the song, he just does not have what it takes to cut the mustard as a popstar. Simple as that.

Exactly. And as a result, no top producer/song-writer in the right mind would be willing to work with him and/or offer him their best material, without a substantial financial incentive from SyCo, which they (SyCo) wouldn't be willing to put up (quite rightly).

mm I wonder how Olly Murs would have faired if he'd received the same lack of radio support as Joe. Will be interesting to see if either of them manage to sell many albums.

So true. Will is so far the biggest solo success story from Pop Idol/X Factor.

Well it could be argued that Leona has the highest success story with her being mega successful in the US with Spirit and a single for Avatar.

I guess time will tell though comparing the two in the first and second years after X-Factor/Pop Idol Leona is definitely outdoing Will.

This isnt a thread to discuss it but leona lewis is without a doubt the most successful artist from any reality show, no debate needed.

Hope Nelly climbs in to top 5, addicted to the song at the moment.

The thing is, even though Joe has a better voice than Olly, Olly has more 'star quality' should we say. That's definitely became more apparent since the show.

Bruno Mars' song is unbelievably overrated. Oh well...

Not really undebatable. Her latest album was, after all, a huge flop worldwide.

Nelly  to #6

Hardly. And it is undebateable, for so many reasons which i wont go in to as there are so many, leona is the artist who is thought of when people think of most successful talent show winner.

The problem with X Factor is the wait for the artists' work. I believe they win and don't start recording until February. By then the audiences have moved on, and by the time their music is back out, the audience are watching the new X Factor.

Magic  #14 doing really well, didnt see it there, should be top 10 soon.

The problem is it worked for leona, and then they thought it would work every time, but its just not true, it depends on the artist, but they want to give everyone an equal launch.

Yes retarded people may think of her

I'd sooner think about Michelle McManus

Seems like you're the retarded one..
