Nice climb for Teenage Dream! Olly still will be behind Taio by quite a bit when the pop. Bars undistort.

And NOTHING else from other new entries! :o Maybe all the sales from new entries go to Olly? :kink:

Not *completely* unavoidable - I've managed not to hear it even once...:)

As for KP - I can still see her being #1 this week. IMO OM's sales will be hyper-front-loaded. and wil collapse in the 2nd half of the week, allowing KP to overtake late.

I'm impressed, I've heard it at least 5 times a day either in the background, on the TV, on the radio somewhere...everywhere I go, that cod-reggae beat follows me

I doubt it. It won't collapse that much, granted it might do a Roll Deep/Wanted and have left #1 on iTunes by the end of the week, but it will have built up more than enough of a lead over Katy to ease to #1 overall by this point. This Olly song won't just appeal to his fanbase imo, but fans of Will Young, UB40 and other daytime radio MOR faves. I can see it lingering around for a bit, even if not in the charts, radio will play it for ages to come yet.

Olly set for #1 then. I expected that. KP won't overtake this week, maybe next week creating yet another 1 week #1 (how long can we keep this going?)

A bit disappointed Kanye is so low but it is after all a 'buzz' single

I'm not sure, the X-Factor artists are incredibly front-loaded and Taio still has a huge lead. Olly will be #1 in the midweeks but overall... Doubt it.

Looks like Olly Murs will get the #1 thisw week, surprised he has taken iTunes by storm already.

Your wrong there. Most Will fans I know find it insulting that there is any comparison made to Will. The fact he wears hats Will wore years ago is the only resemblance. Vocally he is light years away. I agree this song will hang around but his success as a malle solo artist will be short lived.

If it's #2 already, it's definitely going to be #1 even if it falls out of the iTunes top 10 by the end of the week, especially given KP is not even anywhere near the top 40 yet.

Perry's album will, as I keep saying, greatly hinder the single's fortunes. It should still get to #2 but I'm not even sure if it can do that.

Also I don't think PDLMG is actually going to be very frontloaded at least compared with other X Factor artists - he's the first X Factor artist to be marketed to the I'm Yours crowd. MOR songs appealing to a slightly older audience than most chart music often makes low peaks and long runs, but that combined with Olly's X Factor status will give him a #1 with a fairly long run... I think anyway. There's a chance everyone will bore of it and it'll be out of the top 40 within 2 months, but I think it'll stick around.

I can see PDLMG either just about holding on like Once did when OMG overtook or dropping to about 2 or 3

Oh right, fair enough. I didn't mean it will appeal to Will's fanbase, moreso the sort of people who like this sort of mid-tempo breezy pop from Will, Jason Mraz, Train etc...on daytime radio. I agree that Will is a hell of a lot more vocally talented, I saw him live in December 2008 and he was absolutely excellent. I can't say I'd be excited at the prospect of seeing Olly Murs live. I just meant that British males with soulful voices doing mid-tempo soul pop are not exactly all over the charts these days, Will was the closest comparison I could think of, even if Olly is light years behind him, purely because few men in their late 20's can take this sort of music into the charts nowadays. But this is his debut single, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt - I wasn't exactly a fan of Evergreen, Anything Is Possible or The Long & Winding Road. But the former, and Light My Fire are still all over commercial radio 8 years later, along with Leave Right Now and Who Am I, so this song could well prove to be one that hangs around for years if Olly's career flourishes in the future, if he breaks away from the clutches of Simon Cowell

Katy Perry's album is going to hinder her single from reaching #1.

1 Olly

2 Taio

3 Katy

I think Olly will get a week or 2 to 3 weeks before Robbie & Gary will beat the pants of him to the #1 spot, and after that Joe's single, X Factor charity track, bit of a breather before the Xmas #1, from here on its X Factor related till the new year. :drama: That's my assessment for the year.

Robbie & Gary are #16 on the Airplay chart already :o this is going to blow up pretty soon like a juggernaut :D it just can't miss
