As the neutral moderator in this, Shoat has announced the following:

All teams that are found guilty of blatant stealing of threads from other team forums will be deducted 10 points. That is all.

Silk Bullet and Toxic Champagne have been deducted.

Surely those stolen topics should also be deleted from their forums, so that the stolen topics dont help them get more points because they will be getting most posts within it ?

Of course they should Dannyboy. That just wouldn't suit certain people who make these decisions.

OK I hold my hands up guilty as charged but why not just make the team forums member/admin only now?

Stops that straight away and no-one can claim coincidence

We're doing that in the future, but we need to wait for Phil to get back to change member maskings.

Then whats the point in deducting point from them lol. So basically we will deduct 10 points from your team BUT you can keep all the 100+ point you get from posting within your STOLEN topic lol.

Well then why dont we steal everyones topics, lose 10 points for each BUT then post loads so we still get 100s of points since it seems ok to do that lol.

either the amount of points deducted should be increased hugely or the threads should be deleted.

Is it really that much of an issue? In our case at least, we've changed the questions, added different ones etc. - what are we going to do next, say only certain teams can have certain topics? And this is only temporary until we get invisible forums.
LOL your 'changed' questions involve turning 'three favourite albums' into 'five' etc etc. But whatever. We're not bitter and I guess you FEAR our startling creativity if you're so openly thieving from us!

SINCE THEN we've added a few other questions both in there and later on in the thread!

Yes it is an issue. Why should you get 100+ of points by people posting within it, from an original idea one of our team had, yet only lose 10 points.

DEAR LORD. It's a music taste survey, it's hardly like anyone has photocopied the Mona Lisa.

it's more about the principle.

A music survey an original idea? http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif We openly admitted we took it, yes, but it's hardly the sort of thing that NOBODY would've thought of without Jark's timely posting.

Not the point. Stolen ideas, no matter how much they are edited afterwards, should be deleted.

It's not as if a thread on Music taste wasn't going to appear at some point or another, this is a music forum after all
