Wow! TEN years since Rihanna’s biggest UK era to date was launched with this now iconic track!

 

What’s people’s thoughts on this ten years on?

I really thought of this as being totally average and run-of-the-mill for quite some time, but it really has become a classic and taken on a life of its own over the last decade.

 

Shame it couldn't have prevented 'Promise This' from ever reaching #1.

A massive track back in 2010 but it doesn't sound quite as good nowadays! I think Rihanna topped it with We Found Love for songs of a similar genre so this isn't as celebrated as its success at the time would suggest. I still enjoy it but there's quite a lot of early Rihanna tracks I'd revisit before this one.

I prefer this to We Found Love tbh.

 

This is still brilliant for me! A deserved #1 for her even if it did debut at #2 behind Queen of the UK at the time Cheryl!

 

I don’t think we’ll ever get a pure Europop sounding banger like this again from her :( but this definitely amongst her all time best for me even to this day.
