In case anyone didn't realise....Fading samples the track One By One by Enya! She rarely ever lets anyone sample her music, so im surprised they got clearannce for it :D

Anyway, onto the album. Pleasantly surprised there's an Enya sample in there I must say! :D The only other time an Enya song has been sampled was in Fugees - Ready or Not, Mario Winans - I Don't Wanna Know and Pirates - You Should Really Know afaik.

 

Decent enough album though, seems better than the last one which I wasn't too keen on. I'm on Raining Men atm...seems quite GGGB tbh, which I like. S&M, Fading and Cheers are my faves so far.

I've grown even more addicted to "S&M".

 

Biggest grower: "Raining men". Those 2 + "What's my name" are the tracks I play over and over...

Love The Way You Lie pt II (iTunes Piano Edit) is out there now. I don't really like it as much as the main album version and I never thought I'd say this but the song actually needs Eminem on there. The piano edit doesn't feel as emotional without him and without the synths etc.

Yeah I agree, it does feel a little bit bare actually. The drums and synths definitely work in the original Part II, as does the cut to Eminem and you certainly notice them missing here. Still a very good song but won't go down as a classic ballad rework.

Any version without Eminem is a good version.

I'm listening now and it's very poor. To say we'd heard 6/11 of the songs, all the 4 new ones I've heard so far are incredibly poor, with 'Raining Men' the best of a bad bunch! I'll rate the whole thing after a couple more listens, but most of it's forgettable thus far.

How bizarre, I'd say Raining Men is easily the most forgettable song on the album! Not the worst (least brilliant?) but the least memorable. It doesn't have a hook really, just a chant.
