Posted August 31, 201014 yr After the successful first series last year, Whitechapel is back on ITV1 for a second outing. With Rupert Penry-Jones, Phil Davis and Steve Pemberton reprising their roles from series 1 as Chandler, Miles and Buchan. Second series delves into a Krays style show, maintaining its dark and gritty episodes from Season 1. I enjoyed the first series, and looking forward to the new series coming soon .
August 31, 201014 yr ITV must be thanking their lucky stars. They FINALLY have a guaranteed hit on their hands. Series 1 was absolutely excellent. Rupert Penry-Jones is one of Britain's best actors. I think I read that Tameka Empson (who plays Kim Fox in EastEnders) was in a few episodes of the first series but I'm struggling to remember her character...
September 1, 201014 yr A Krays-style plotline...???? WTF??? What does that have to do with Jack the Ripper...?? And also, what did The Krays have to do with Whitechapel, their criminal empire was centred around Mile End/Bethnal Green..... Jesus, cant ITV actually do a bit of fact checking...? Also, most of the people who live and work around Whitechapel and Aldgate these days are ASIAN.... So, a white criminal gang (presumably if it's gonna be based on The Krays) in the centre of a predominately Asian/Bangladeshi neighbourhood???? Whaaaaaaaaa?????
September 3, 201014 yr have not seen this show. Is it good? It was watchable enough, wouldn't call it great though....
September 7, 201014 yr Any idea when this starts? I'm thinking maybe Mondays after Bouquet has ended in three weeks.
September 7, 201014 yr I must admit, after the first episode, I was a bit disappointed with the first series of Whitechapel ... the only thing that kept me interested in it was Steve Pemberton (is that his name ... the guy from TLOG?) Having said that ... it was probably better than anything else that was on at the time and I'll give it a go this time too. Kath
October 11, 201014 yr Author It wasn't compelling as the first series, but I stuck to it, hopefully the story develops further. I do like the scope of the Krays element to it.
