So...Delta's long term partner is, as you all know, ex-Westlife member, and ex husband of the vile Kerry Katona, Brian McFadden. Delta seems to have had a fair few links to Westlife in the past - her relationship and many duets with Brian, including a cover of Flying Without Wings, her duet with Westlife themselves on All Out Of Love, and lets not forget the 2007 song Woman, which sounded like a Westlife reject with the lyrics changed - the song writers (Steve Mac/Wayne Hector) rather back up my theory here as they are indeed Westlife's long term songwriters.

 

Brian though, I rather dislike personally :( He was partly responsible for Believe Again apparently so kudos for that, and I liked Almost Here and Hollow No More, but his own solo stuff has been wholly awful. He recently had a #1 in Australia with Just Say So, a collaboration with Kevin Rudolf (yes, really!). His new album Wall Of Soundz is one of the biggest car crashes I've heard all year, Brian goes Taio Cruz type affair etc...BUT, there is one saving grace, and it's the latest single, Mistakes, his latest duet with Delta. The video of which should surface very soon. Thoughts;

 

 

However, this is literally the worst thing ever. Discuss;

 

 

Seeing Delta live in concert would fulfill my life, but I'm rather worried that even if I turned up late to avoid the inevitable Brian support set, he'd be squeezed into the main concert at any opportunity, not just to sing the classic Almost Here (denied of it's rightful #2 status by yet another dire Elvis re-issue :cry:), but basically rubbish like this, and dressed like that.

Have you heard his new disaster album yet? The only one of his solo singles I could tolerate was Irish Son which was anthemic in a way, but I still hate his voice and presence on it :lol:

 

I'll never forget the GM:TV 'asking a producer for a glass and helping himself to the table display orange juice jug mid-interview' thing when he was still in Westlife - absolutely hilarious and so cringeworthy. I wish it was on youtube to relive the moment!

I don't HATE him. Hate is a strong word and I don't hate anyone. I'm just not a fan - he makes me cringe something chronic, and for a 30 year old man, he acts like a child, he's incredibly immature :lol: I own both of Delta's tour DVD's and his parts are by far the worst. He thinks he's hilarious when he's really not, cracking some dire jokes at completely inappropriate moments :drama: I don't have a problem with him being with Delta though, they're clearly in love and it's not for me to judge their relationship and bond, I just wish she wouldn't shoehorn him into all of her concerts :lol: Fair enough for Almost Here but he seems to be on stage for about half an hour in each show, and that's what the fast forward button is made for on the DVD player :magic: Do You Love Me (do the mash potato) was a crime to music, and even as a Delta fan I can't bring myself to like, tolerate, or anything more than despise it.

I guess people hate the fact that they used to get to #1 with every release, or the fact that they get a guest slot on X Factor every year to ensure a top 3 single/album every November. To be fair, What About Now is their least disposable single in many many years - radio are still hammering it now.

 

The sad thing is, I've seen Katy live (she was amazing), love One Of The Boys and indeed love her new album, but the claims that it's the 'greatest album of all time' two days after leaking and the constant rates of 9 and 10/10 for what are quite clearly filler tracks, rather irritate me :lol: I'm yet to ever hear a perfect 10/10 from start to finish album, and I doubt one exists.

I remember why else I'm not a fan actually - because of Kerry Katona and the way the whole British media villainised Delta when they split up, with Kerry getting outpourings of public support, when really she's the most useless 'celebrity' in the country :( I can't believe she's still riding on the coattails of being in Atomic Kitten ten years ago when they weren't even that successful.

I'm close to being one who does that (see Marina & The Diamonds thread, but i'm sure you remember that anyway :kink: ) with probably only Outsider and Rootless 9/10 :kink:

Wall Of Soundz... is as awful as its title. Completely unlistenable. Not even Delta saves it. I couldn't make myself listen to any song other than Mistakes and the opening track, in fact i 20-seconds'd every other song and i am only happy i didn't listen to those songs. Could be easily nominated for the most try-hard -> fail-hard and awful album of all-time.
