August 29, 20159 yr If you only watch one anime series this year, make it School Live. I don't want to tell you what it is about as it will ruin the surprise, but watch the first episode on Crunchyroll (it's a legal site for watching anime, it has ads which support the makers of the programmes), and watch all the way to the end, and be sure not to read anything about the series beforehand. It's incredible.

I've been looking for a new series so I've just given this a go and yeah, I agree with this, it was going slow-ish and then when understanding came, suddenly I'm very interested in seeing how this all plays out. Thanks for the recommendation.

It's incredible. Will add it to my list!  This summer has been a huge anime fest for me so far, although the last couple of weeks I've had a break from it. So far I've watched these: Akame Ga Kill! Angel Beats! Another Blood-C Claymore Deadman Wonderland Druaga No Tou: The Aegis of Uruk Druaga No Tou: The Sword of Uruk Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka Highschool of the Dead Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu Log Horizon Magi: The Kingdom of Magic Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Mirai Nikki No Game No Life Saishuu Heiki Kanojo Shiki Shinsekai yori Sword Art Online II Tokyo Ghoul Tokyo Ghoul √A Zetman My current list of anime to watch is about 10 now. I'm waiting for Gods Eater Burst to finish in October so I can watch it all in one go - my current to-watch anime from this season.
August 29, 20159 yr I saw a few clips of Another and I really want to watch that because of the Final Destination teas it gave me! My friend introduced me to this anime called Shokugeki no Souma, which is basically Food Fighters/MasterChef Junior with a plot device. It's so addicting and it makes me hungry every episode.

The plot is quite interesting and has a few twists and turns and some of the deaths scenes are quite amazing (in a bad way if that makes sense?).

That moment of WTF-ery in episode 5 of Aegis of Uruk had me in stitches for ages (it was also one of the first anime series I watched in full). Deadman Wonderland is one of the darkest, most disturbing anime I've seen to date, and I see you've embraced "The String" in Dungeon ni.... I've got 7 episodes into Tokyo Ghoul √A, but need to finish it off.
August 29, 20159 yr And apart from School Live!, I'm currently watching the following series this season - Working!!!/Wagnaria!!! - The third series of the restaraunt-themed show. Non Non Biyori Repeat - the 2nd series of the rural themed slice-of-life show. Monster Musume - Takes place in a world where half-monster, half-human girls are discovered to exist. The Japanese government starts an exchange program allowing them to study in Japan with a host family. The male protagonist, Darling, is selected to host a snake-girl, and over time he also ends up hosting a harpy, a centaur, a slime-creature, a mermaid, and an arachnid-girl, all of whom are inexplicably attracted to him. Borderline X-rated hilarity ensues. It's a show that I feel a little bit guilty for watching, but I can't help but watching each week. Rokka - Braves of The Six Flowers - every 300 years, the Demon God rises up in order to destroy humanity. However, six humans are blessed with powers to fight the Demon God and defeat him. When the current incarnation of braves meet up, they make a horrifying discovery - there are 7 people bearing the mark of the Braves. This means that the group not only have to defeat the Demon God, but have to work out which one of them is a traitor.

It was a welcome break from all the serious fighting and such though and had me in stitches too. Deadman Wonderland was really good, I really hope a season 2 comes out. If not I have the manga bookmarked for a future read. I don't think it's the most disturbing anime I've seen (I quite enjoy the dark/gorey/disturbing anime if you haven't already seen by my list lol), but it is certainly is the darkest I've seen. Especially the background of the characters and how they came to be. It's more so that I'm a sucker for dungeon/rpg-like anime.  And apart from School Live!, I'm currently watching the following series this season - Working!!!/Wagnaria!!! - The third series of the restaraunt-themed show. It's incredible. Just started this and watched the first 2 epsiodes so far and the first episode is most probably my favourite opening episode for any anime I've ever watched. I thought it was really funny/cute and then the dark twist.... I'm totally in awe at how well that was pulled off and just how dark and intriguing the anime is so far. Are all episodes already up on crunchyroll, or are there still a few episodes left to air?

Unfortunately I'd been told what the twist was before I saw the first episode, but it still shocked me when it came. The first 8 episodes are up on Crunchyroll, so there's still 4 episodes left to go of the season, and they'll be released once a week.
October 4, 20159 yr Crunchyroll has been a bit of a revelation for me. Just finished School Live and Charlotte yesterday, and I ran through Attack On Titan for the first time a week or two back. All three were very enjoyable, even if Charlotte had a few... issues with plot whiplash. Now my only problem is figuring out what to watch next (I'm actually quite new to anime so I haven't even seen lots of the classics on there but I can't pick one).
October 4, 20159 yr I'm not too sure what you've seen or not, but I had a quick look to see what Crunchyroll has on offer and here are some of the 'classic' series that you might be interested in - Â Bodacious Space Pirates - about a high-school girl who discovers that she's the heir to the captain's seat of a space-faring pirate ship. 24 episodes. Sword Art Online - series about a group of people who find themselves trapped in a massive RPG game, where if they die in the game, they die in real life. 48 episodes, which are a bit hit and miss, but it's been one of the biggest crossover series in the past few years. Space Brothers - there's been 101 episodes of this, so it might take a while to get through, but you should definitely give it a shot if you can. The story's about 2 brothers who after seeing a UFO as kids, promise to one day become astronauts. 20 years later, the younger brother is on the verge of becoming the first Japanese man on the moon, whilst the older brother is left unemployed from his job as an engineer after headbutting his boss. However, things take a change for the better when he receives a letter from the JAXA, the Japanese space programme. Love Live! - when I was in Japan, this series was unavoidable, and rightly so. The show is about a girl who is devastated that her High School is due to close due to lack of new applicants. In order to drum up support for the school, she joins up with 8 friends to start a J-Pop group to promote the school, hoping to take part in the annual "Love Live" competition for school idols. If you've been on plug.dj you'll notice I have a habit of squeezing in some of their songs into the playlist, but the show itself is even better.
October 4, 20159 yr Also, as my avatar suggests, Assassination Classroom has been my favourite (non-School Live) anime series of the year, although it's not on Crunchyroll unfortunately. I'm sure there's other ways you can find it though.
October 4, 20159 yr Crunchyroll is awesome. I used the free version for years, but got the subscription two years ago. For the extra £5 a month you get to watch in hi-def, no ads, and you get to watch episodes 1 hour after they premiere in Japan (with the standard version you have to wait 7 days). Although the free version is just as good if you're happy with the ads, and if you're binging entire series rather than watching it as it airs it's ideal.

I had wondered about Sword Art Online already because of what seems to be a pretty nice concept, so I might give that one a go. I'll see if I can get round to the others as well at some point - it's very nice having a repository of series that you only need to sit through a few ads to get access to available, excellent for binge watching indeed.
October 4, 20159 yr I've lived anime-free since June, I need to get back to it ASAP, especially since I've left a few series unfinished (Kuroko, Tokyo Ghoul, Nisekoi, Noragami). School Live sounds cool, a plot twist might be just what I need to get myself addicted again!
October 7, 20159 yr Also, as my avatar suggests, Assassination Classroom has been my favourite (non-School Live) anime series of the year, although it's not on Crunchyroll unfortunately. I'm sure there's other ways you can find it though. I'm currently addicted to Assassination Classroom - such a great mix of themes and it works really well! Had a brief hiatus from anime for a month or so but getting back into it and a bunch of series should be finishing in the next few weeks. Once they are I'll most probably binge on a series every weekend (God Eater Burst currently the one I'm looking forward to the most).
November 9, 20159 yr I'm going to watch the first series of "The Seven Deadly Sins" as it's now on Netflix, and this will be my first proper anime that I've watched since Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z!
