I can't see even McFly selling much more physicals than the 12k Kylie sold recently - and unlike her, they probably won't be selling large quantities of downloads.

vidcapper, McFly are already at #11, top-5 is sure-fire now! Top-3 is very probable too.

And yes, I guess it's the highest they've been EVER in iTunes.

Initially, I thought McFly were going to have the weeks highest new entry so to see Alexandra Burke top 5 already is a surprise.

BTW, I just looked up McFly's best ever download position - and it turns out it was #1!

Mind you, that *was* back in 2005 with 'All About You', when D/L's sold sod-all... :P

'Star Girl' also went to #1 on D/L in Nov'06 - but again, the download market was much smaller then, especially for the top positions...

Wow, McFly were shaking! Firstly they were selling out on downloads too when they were practically non-existent; then they became huge physicals sellers with barely any downloads - and now they brought back downloads to their sales again!

Alexandra  to #4. :o

McFly  to #10.

The Script  to #13.

Alesha  to #16.

Eugh, none of the new releases deserves to go to #1, all the songs are so tacky and worser than 'Club is Alive'.

Go Alexandra & The Script!

So pleased for Alexandra, although I imagine this will only last as long as Tuesday Evening, then it'll fall to around 7 or 8 by next weeks chart closing time... hope I'm wrong though...

Alexandra's going up rather quickly now isn't she. The gap between #5 and #4 was a fair distance, but she's overthrown it with ease

ok that is wrong the club is alive was so tacky

I sense another JLS/Alex TCIA/SWY argument coming our way.

At the end of the day, it's not really about what people don't like - it's about what people do like. The iTunes chart is based on who's buying what. SWY is clearly proving the most popular at the minute.

Also, I don't get the hate for SWY when taking into consideration the truly terrible #1s we have had this year already. SWY actually seems good in comparison. I guess it's down to the fact that it follows one of the best singles of 2010 ('All Night Long').

I hope The Script can get top 5 :/ <3

this Alex vs. JLS/Leona/Whoever else comes from X Factor will never go away, so it's pointless people arguing about who's more successful. Go do some research and look at the total sales for all their songs and albums, they don't lie. Everything else is just down to personal opinion. I'm a huge Alexandra fan, but even I know that in terms of sales, JLS are easily more successful. I just personally prefer Alex's output. They all make great songs and have their fair share of songs that won't always appeal to the public/casual music buyers. (Alex is yet to disappoint for me, but that's a matter of personal opinion) It's not the end of the world, although Alex hasn't sold quite the amount JLS have, despite beating them in their series of X Factor, she's still been a huge success, so people saying she's a flop needs a slap tbh.

Anyway, Cher $h!ts all over them :kink:

Then again, by holding the release until today will have probably benefitted the track. Iirc, 'All Night Long' was added fairly quietly and climbed to its peak over a few weeks. Had that song been treated the same way, Alexandra could well have had one week at no. 1 with 'ANL'.

I have a gut feeling Taio Cruz might end up reclimbing back to no. 1 again next Sunday.

All Night Long was released after the album. :P

Cher from last night? :o

She was amazing! Very current. Hopefully Simon or Louis don't get her in their category. They'll ruin her.

Sorry, off-topic.

I think that once Alex gets to #3, she'll be at #1 half-an-hour later. :D

The highest version of 'Turn My Swag On' is a fake version it seems  Probably because it's the only available version with Keri Hilson on it

I wonder if they'll be combined, if they'll both chart but separately or if the 2 real versions will be combined and the 'fake' one will be excluded...

Hi,

I have the latest version of iTunes so can I view the popularity bars myself? And if so how?

Thanks.

PS Alexandra is #4 but the homepage still says #5.

Whoever is buying 'Drummer Boy' needs to be lined up and publicly humiliated. Hideous song.
I'm glad Alexandra is so high. I think it's a fantastic song. Amazing beat, and the rap verse is awesome!

I'm happy for McFly, they proved that they're not dinosaurs of the physical era and they can sell records during the download era too, especially that the song is good. Meh at Alex Burke as I don't think she deserves to be so high. I guess she's frontloaded as the song is known for 3 months now + X-Factor new releases often tend to be frontloaded.

Go go go Alesha, she has a shot to top-10 too, I hope she MIRACULOUSLY goes into top-5.

well thats proof people will buy any old $h!t if it has an artists name on it they like. alex song is dreadful.

To be fair Alex's new single is really catchy, but in a "Where have I heard this before?!" sort of way. The first time I heard it I thought it would do well.

Much better than Bad Boys anyway. Always hated that song.
