it wouldnt need to be forced if they got their writing together for the whole series, because unless it happens, Carl's character is pointless.

the season had a really strong start and a really strong finish, but in the end, it wasnt The Walking Dead, they might aswell have called it something else, all they have used is the fact Rick was in a coma and went to Atlanta and found his family, the characters are not the same apart from the names, they might aswell just created a new gory zombie series and hyped it up just as much as the majority of the audience havent read the comics.

Well they could have done that, but they were never going to create a like-for-like adaptation were they? I mean, what would be the point? The comics are out there already. I've no doubt that the comics are brilliant as I have only heard good stuff about them, but book/comic adaptations to TV always work differently. I've mentioned it before but True Blood is the perfect example. They use the books as a template but they change many things such as not killing off a major character when they should have done, and developing Bill's personality so differently This is how I see the The Walking Dead ending up, as it has already shown

I love the finale, awesome, one of the best series to date, I so want this on DVD, there has to some amazing uncut scenes.

I love to know what was whispered into Rick's ear, just have to wait for Season 2.

That ending was fantastic, great choice of song as well

5 have started airing this. I wasn't going to watch but I saw that it was about to start whilst I was channel flicking and I have to say I'm very glad I did watch. It was outstanding. Andrew Lincoln is perfect (as in everything else he's been in) and it was beautifully filmed (like all AMC series). A couple of clichés here and there but nothing too awful. Excited to see the rest now.

Just started watching this last night (and have caught up episode 1 on Youtube). It really is very, very good. Very filmic in quality rather than TV-like, very tongue-in-cheek and actually a LOT better than some cinema films of the same subject.

OK! Can someone (who's already seen this on another channel) help me and give me a clue as to what happens in Episode 6 of the first series? Spoilered of course. I watched episode 5 last night and I have a horrible feeling I know where Episode 6 is going (but I hope I'm wrong).

Don't say 'wait for Episode 6' - I don't think I'm going to be able to watch it this weekend (I don't tape shows and I don't have Skyplus.)

Ta!

Episode 6

The end of episode 5 is where they are knocking on the door of the scientists' building isn't it? Anyway, he eventually lets them in. The episode is basically about learning a lot more about the characters (some major character development, especially in the love traingle), and what the virus is. Expect a couple of deaths.

But

Does the scientist inside the CCD have more sinister reasoning for letting them in?

And please tell me that Darryl doesn't come to a nasy end in Episode 6!!!!!

as if so - I'm definitely NOT going to watch it!

Thanks by the way!

He does and he doesn't. I don't want to give away the whole of the episode as it's a huge part of it. But let's just say the pyschological effects of him being alone have taken their toll.

And Darryl does not die! From when I was watching it on AMC last year, both him and Merle went down VERY well with the audience and producing team, so I'd expect them to feature more if anything in Season 2.

The scientist tells them once they're in they can't leave. They go in. They eat, sleep, shower, generally get used to the sort of luxuries they've been without for so long. He shows them x-ray type diagrams of a human brain after a person is zombified and the flicker of activity that allows the body to move without triggering the senses. Then they realise there's a clock counting down to something in his lab and what it's counting down to turns out to be the moment when the lab blows up because after that they won't have the resources left to survive.

Initially he tries to keep them inside and shuts the doors down so they can't get out of the lab but eventually he relents and lets them go. Andrea (the blonde elder sister) decides she's going to stay with the scientist until the end (effectively committing suicide when the lab blows up) but Dale decides that if she's doing that then he is too because he thinks of her like a daughter. Jacqui (the black woman) decides to do the same given that she has nothing left to live for after they had to leave Jim behind to die in episode 5. The rest try to escape the building but the glass is reinforced and bulletproof... eventually Carol (cropped hair, abusive husband) remembers the grenade she found in Rick's jacket and they used that to blow out a sheet of glass and get of the building. We then see Andrea and Dale running away from the building too, Andrea having evidently decided not to let herself die in the blast. They just make it out and the entire building goes up in a bloody ridiculous ball of flame.

In other news Shane tried to rape Lori becuase he was frustrated that she was blanking him after he'd told her Rick was dead.

Although it was a decent episode I personally thought it was a let down and not a patch on the campsite episodes... ep 4 where Amy died and Andrea held her was really really strong, probably my favourite.

i can see it being one of thos incredible tv shows no one can say a bad thing about.

Some people did forsee the future.....

Theres quite the critiscism from certain members who loved the comics as well. Its also a pity that Rooney and the like seem to not follow any longer, we lost them with the damn poor series 7!! Its now just me, you, Jase and on occassion Martin!

I still watch it!

The latest season on the whole was good, bar the odd couple of filler episodes. The final episode was definitely one of the best in a while, great to see some of Negan's back story - we learned quite a lot about him pre-apocalypse, the fact that he was already prone to violent outbursts, but that he could be a kind person... until he felt that he had no reasons left to continue adhering to society's rules.

It's interesting how the writers have managed to make Negan into a somewhat sympathetic character recently, given how barbaric he was in his past. Although sometimes it's easy to forget that Negan's incredibly brutal killing of two of Rick's people was actually in retaliation to Rick and his people invading a base where some of Negan's people were living, stabbing them in the head as they were sleeping...!

Crazy to think this show has been airing for over 10 years now, although I didn't watch the first season when it aired. I just checked my Amazon purchase history - I bought the Season 1 Blu-Ray in May 2012, which was just before Season 2 started to air on Channel 5. I'll always think that Season 1 is fantastic, and because it's only 6 episodes it kind of felt like watching a movie (I think the cinematography lends to that feel as well).

Good to see your still watching ! I’m rewatching the series as a whole currently, at the end of series 3 at the moment. It’s peak for me!

Yeh the NEGAN episode was one to the greatest imo, loved the part his real life wide played in it and the wee links to the future in it!

This ends tonight!

I stopped watching like 2 episodes after Rick left so idk how good or bad it's been since, personally. But I've not heard good things :(

It's a shame coz 1-7 is probably my favourite TV series of all time. I'll probs rewatch and finish it all at some point, but yeah... will be interesting to see what happens in this ep.

Honestly, it felt like it started to fade when they started expanding the world via 'Fear The Walking Dead' etc..

It’s not as good as series 1-6 peak but much better written than the poor series 7/8 and there’s some great characters in it since the Whisperers!

Biggest 'meh' of an ending to a major show that I can think of.

Feels like, what was the point of the last 5 years?
