Script #4  Hope they can climb to #1 on itunes today and secure #3 for sunday!
Hurts really deserve to do well, I love their sound.

Amazing that Alex is still no.1. I wish we knew her lead.

She hasn't budged from no.1 on iTunes though, so that's a great sign for no.1 on Sunday.

Headlines is having great holds for the Saturdays. 3-8-13-15

Alex is a shoe-in for #1 on Sunday - #1 on iTunes all week with a substantial lead for most of it, and she has physicals.

If she isn't #1 on Sunday, I'll boil my head in a frying pan.

Relieved Alex is holding on on itunes and the mid weeks.

Although Alesha is unlikely to go Top 10 she should have released next week.

I do not think you can boil your full head in a frying pan-do you not have a large pot.

Party Girls is the first McFly song I have ever bought. I hated the old style and like what I hear so far. If they shed fans they can hopefully get some new ones too.
But then Same Difference are on a much smaller independent label - both Mcfly and Sugababes are on a massive label, who aren't exactly gonna be happy (to put it mildly) that they'll continue to slip down the midweek chart. Same Difference have had limited promo - Mcfly and Sugababes when releasing are on all the shows possible that will let them sing and they also have heavy rotation on the music channels and radio. The majority of the public know when a Mcfly and Sugababes song is released, most people wouldn't know a Same Difference song was released last week. So really, that remark is void

And how have either band earned the right? Mcfly have never sold well - just took advantage of low sales in the low sales period, and only 1 Sugababe of the current lot has achieved any sort of success with Amelle briefly glimsing success on a record with Girls Aloud and the other with the last Sugababes #1 back in 2007.

Spicefunk wanted to say that both groups (or brands if you want) have had huge longevity now, especially Sugababes since 1998. And they can pull out 1, or even 2 or more flop albums. Island has faith in both of them - then surely guys in the label know what they do? :P Besides, are you sure that McFly's album sales will be poor? The single's doing fine, I think it'll be about 40k for 'Party Girl', it's more than peak sales for 'One For the Radio' and 'Lies' at the very least which were at about 30k. Yes, the peak _position_ will be lower but the sales will be higher. And someone told in this thread that McFly have signed a 360 degrees deal which means that Island will earn the profit share from the McFly concerts and gigs too but get lower profit share from releasing the albums. The Sugababes 4.0 have the same deal now by the way.

I've never been a McFly fan but it's WAY to early to write them off.

Great to see Linkin Park holding steady but Im surprised they are :o

why are the Pictures charting, I cant see them on itunes? and who are they?

I think they're something to do with that Must Be The Music show that Pepper + Piano and Emma's Imagination are from, they were around top 20 for the start of the week on iTunes but are falling away now...

I see, and they are on itunes actually at 45- Surprised their still top 30 here! :o

I think they've just fallen quickly over the past day, they were still around top 30 yesterday...

I guess they're selling well on Sky Songs. Actually they're pretty good, and the lead singer is well cute :kink:

I own a large pot :magic: :teresa:

Surely not? :o I was thinking more like 60k max! We get so little sales information midweek compared to what we used to get, it's hard to tell.
Well if it was in the Sun I'd take it with a pinch of salt, but the Mail I sort of believe for some reason. If it's true, I'd hope that Hurts can do 60k this week :)
Shontelle is definately in the UK from today not sure what promotion she has but hopefully it is good enough to get her Top 10 next week.
