Thankfully it's died out since then. Unfortunately I Like it by Enrique is currently unaviodable.

Actually, I Like It was a little bit popular at the time to. While I was actually there, I saw Enrique and Pitbull perform it on a TV show, and the next day I heard it loads on the radio, and it went really high on iTunes. That was like 7 weeks ago though.

Bruno Mars isn't black...

Technically, true - but compared to say Pixie Lott, or Kylie...

Edited by vidcapper

Isn't Bruno Mars asian? I remember his race being discussed in another thread on here, but I've forgotten now. :(

Peter Hernandez was born and raised in Hawaii by parents Pete and Bernadette "Bernie" Hernandez of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent.

Oh, OK - sometimes I see black, male & urban, and automatically assume rap - its an easy mistake to make nowadays... :P

It's not a combination of music factors that appeals to me though...

Stop while you are ahead I think your hatred of rap is clouding your judgement-definately not an easy mistake to make black, male, urban=rap.Usher, Iyaz, Jason derulo, Maclean,Taio,Neyo are as far removed from rap as you can get.Plus Tinnie is a Grime artist, Labrinth is a singer/producer who is more Maclean than Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars is Filipino unless that is also black now.

I just have to say it hold on Alex at least until midnight tonight.

My judgement is not clouded over the type of music I like though - and the music the above create is not it.

I hope no-one is going to go as far as to hint it is 'racist' to hate rap music. After all, I like Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kelis, not to mention some reggae & soul songs. Also, as a general rule, over 90% of the music I like is by female artists, regardless of colour.

Whats the recent pop bars looking like?

Hoping Katy Perry will be #1 in next update, definitely a better song should be #1.

Also hoping heartbeat is climbing rapidly up the chart before it gets hectic with new songs!

The Script album chart show on T4 atm so might see a rise for the first time :) Hope so. Great band.

It is not a race thing, either. I like Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kelis, not to mention some reggae & soul songs. Also, as a general rule, over 90% of the music I like is by female artists, regardless of colour.

I would not claim that it is a race thing when it comes to you.Are you saying that there is not even 1 rap song that you like. There have been some brilliant ones over the years.I know the current state of some rap is very poor but there have been some stand-out songs from that genre.Eric B and Rakim-I know you Got Soul, Notorious BIG-One More Chance,SaltnPeppa-Push It, Busta Rhymes-Touch it,Crossroads-Bone/Thugs, Nas If I Ruled the World to name a few.

I think Alex is still doing some radio promotion, not too bothered about who is No 1 next week but want Alex to hold on(hope its Shontelle).

Whoever is downloading songs from the Jonas Brothers Camp Rock 2 please stop and have some pride.

Does Blondie-Rapture count? :P

There have been a few early ones I thought were OK, but none in the gangsta-rap style, i.e. all aggression & profanity.

Gangsta rap will always be a poor representation of rap and there are rappers like Common, Kanye, Nicky Minaj, Drake and B.O.B who are versatile and show originality without profanity.

No Blondie and Rapture do not count :P

I hope Enrique gets another hit with 'Heartbeat' but I can't help but feel 'Dirty Dancer' was robbed of being a huge hit. It's far more instant and infectious than 'Heartbeat'.

It's like ILI was the foreplay and 'Heartbeat' is the musical impotence.

Shontelle may start dropping a lot now, no way will it stick around top 10 for long.

Wow flo rida is comfortable at #10, well ahead of #11! :)

While I haven't heard the JB song yet, I don't think you should be talking about pride considering you want SWY to cling on to #1. :P

Shontelle needs to do some promo over here. :drama:

I love 'heartbeat', so great it's doing well already. it's like everything '3 words' should be.

Considering 'Heartbeat' is performed by two of the hottest people in the world pop, it's a bit of a let down. At least 3 Words actually goes somewhere near the end - even if it is for 20 seconds.

Considering you are defending the tripe that was 3 Words, I am surprised you have the nerve to insult my taste in music

Of course I want SWY to cling onto No 1 that fat tub of fat Chris Moyles was saying there is no way that SWY would have a 2nd week at No 1.

I have to agree though Heartbeat has such a good video but the song is dull but I still want it to do well.
