now that the 'aphrodite' era is over, I can say 'too much'. :( mind you I'm probably the only one who thinks this. probably wouldn't have done anything anyway since 'get outta my way' underperformed but I'd have probably had it released instead of 'better than today'. such a tune.

Was 'Your Disco Needs You' actually released?

The only two songs she didn't perform from the album were 'Too Much' and 'Better Than Today' (I know, right?) so it's fair to say 'Too Much' was never in with a shout of being a single. I really wanted 'Aphrodite' instead of 'Better Than Today' then we'd have had the perfect three, imagine how epic the X-Factor performance of that would've been.

Only in Australia and a couple of European countries, it made #20 in Australia. There was some kind of campaign by a lot of fans to get it released in the UK, but the record company went between 'Please Stay' and 'Butterfly'.

No, she did perform BTT.

I think for the era of Aphrodite... the album has the consistency of the Fever album, but the singles weren't chosen in the same consistent way as picking In Your Eyes as a follow-up to Can't get you out of my head. If I was the management, I would choose Aphrodite as the lead singe, followed by All the Lovers, then Cupid Boy.

She didn't do BTT every night though, she mixed and matched songs depending on what the crowd wanted. Although she did do BTT when I saw her

and nobody shouted for it

That's upsetting, it is one of my favorite pop songs of all time.

Like a drug and disco down would the main 2 i think at the moment that should have been singles, the one although it was released as such i think should have got a full single release and had she promoted it i think it would have done very well.

That's a shame, it does seem popular amongst her fan base. I'm sure if it was released as a single back in the day, then

it would have been a huge hit, and a big radio favourite.

I really wanted Like A Drug to be a single and I wanted The One to be released and promoted properly, it was far too good to flop, Stars would have been good too, but i know it was never even a thought for them.

Aphrodite should have been single #3 instead of BTT...such an odd choice, and i really wanted Everything Is Beautiful to be a single too, it was very instant for me and i think it could have done well.

And in a perfect world Illusion would have been a single too as i think it definitely fits in with the euphoric-ness of the whole Aphrodite theme, and a studio version of the way she performed it on tour would be one of the b-sides and the music video would have also had that arabian theme to it as well.

I'm talking UK-wise:

LIGHT YEARS: Your Disco Needs You (after Please Stay, which I adore)

FEVER: Fever (instead of CIMW which is mediocre), Fragile

BODY LANGUAGE: Obsession & Lovin' Days

X: Speakerphone & Stars

APHRODITE: Aphrodite

I was there and I am telling you she didn't, at least not on the date I went to.

It was there on some dates, definitely was on the one I went to anyway (Manchester). I didn't realise it was only played at some shows, it had full band backing and a proper performance/routine - not like her acapella performance 'crowd request' - which was incidentally I Should Be So Lucky at the show I saw. Strange that she left her most recent single out of some dates :o

No surprise a few people have mentioned like a drug and i agree with it but i also think they could have come up with a great video for like a drug aswell, it was that kind of song that given a really good video could have been a fairly decent hit.

1980s

Turn it into Love - Kylie album - huge missed opportunity in the UK. At the very least, it should have been released as a single in the US and Aus instead of the very average It's No Secret.

1990s

Time Will Pass You By - KM 94 - the MPeople sound would have appealed more as a third single than Where Is The Feeling. I also love Dangerous Game, but don't think it would've excited the masses at the time, though it wouldn't be out if place on an Adele album today.

2000s

The One - X - I have to agree with everyone else. This should've been the lead single, with a sexy video to match. I can't stand 2 Hearts or the art work / imagery of this era. Speakerphone a lost opportunity too.

2010s

Cupid Boy - Aphrodite - instead of Better Than Today. That said, I absolutely adore GOOMW, so I'm at a loss to know why she lost momentum in this era.

I agree Turn It Into Love, would have made a good single, the fact it never was may have something to do with the fact that Hazell Dean released it as a single instead.

Time Will Pass You By definately was a much better song than Where Is The Feeling. And i thought The One was a good single, too bad it ended up being Kylie's lowest

charting one.

I completly agree about turn it into love its far far better than its no secret, it was lovely to see kylie in corporate turn it into love into her tour homecoming tour aswell.

Time will pass you by although i like it dont love it would have been a far far better single choice than where is the feeling, where is the feeling is one kylie song i think that everyone forgets existed.

The One, definitly definitly was a missed opportunity and probably the biggest missed opportunity of them all.

Cupid boy i would have picked instead of get outta my way, aphrodite lost momentum due to a bad 2nd choice single, for me it would have made a brilliant b side or album track but was never single worthy.

Light Years had Butterfly, Your Disco Needs You and to a lesser extent the title track which while not a big hit in any sense could have had quite a good radio edit and would have been interesting as a single in any case.

Fever had Love Affair which was just such an obvious single. Don't know why they only pushed 4 singles from that album anyway. That said I still believe Come Into My World was a good single. It might not have smashed or whatever but it brought back the "cool" to the Fever campaign after LAFS was just pure fun.

Body Language obvs had Secret which would have just been AMAZING. The video could have been something special. Otherwise they did the best they could have with the album.

X had Stars. I find it hard to imagine Like A Drug working as a single. The One obvs needed a better release and 2 Hearts should never have EXISTED in the first place but ho hum.

Aphrodite then had Cupid Boy and I think Can't Beat The Feeling could have been a good single later in the campaign. No need to be pushing stuff like Better Than Today and Put Your Hands Up on the public!

Why the hell would they go to the bother of having a radio edit and video if they know it wont be a hit?
