Fatboy is improving on me as of late. I can't bear him now and he's quite hilarious and not so annoying compared to when he first came and that new doctor is a sleeze <_<

Thursday's episode was literally fantastic. I forgot how much I love Denise and there was some great Kim, Yusef and Lauren/Seb/Mercy stuff too. I really like new Lauren now weirdly.

Friday's was decent enough too but not as good. But the duff duff gave me shivers. So good.

I hated the teenagers watching the horror film in Thursday's episode -- awful viewing, which reminded me of the DIRE camping trip of last May! *Shudders*

Denise, Yusef, Afia and Tamwar at breakfast together in tonight's episode was hilarious. As was Heather of all people telling Julie she smelled bad! I also shiverred from the cliffhanger! :(

Sid Owen to take 'EastEnders' break

Saturday, February 26 2011, 01:05 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly,

EastEnders star Sid Owen has announced that he plans to take a break from the soap.

The actor, who plays Ricky Butcher on the Walford serial, handed in his notice to bosses last week and will make his departure in the summer, The Mirror reports.

Owen is following in the footsteps of his screen wife Patsy Palmer (Bianca Butcher), who is currently out of contract with EastEnders and concentrating on motherhood following the arrival of her fourth child Bertie.

A BBC spokesperson said: "Sid will be taking a short break from filming but we fully expect to see Ricky and Bianca return to Albert Square in 2012, when Patsy also returns."

In a statement, Owen explained that he plans to focus on charity work in the coming months. He commented: "I will be taking a break from EastEnders so that I can dedicate more time to Drop 4 Drop, a charity to help alleviate the global water crisis in the developing world. Ricky will definitely be returning to Walford at some point next year."

Owen has played Ricky on and off since 1988. His current stint began in 2008 when Ricky returned to Albert Square for the funeral of his father Frank, before deciding to stick around on a permanent basis.

Im assuming that will also means Tiffany, Liam Morgan will also go on a break aswell unless the kids stay on screen with either Whitney, Pat or Carol.

The kids will probably stick around I'd have thought. Tiff is too well liked to boot out and they'd have literally no under-10s except Bobby Beale if the Butcher kids went.
I would imagine Granny Carol or Granny Pat would step up to the plate. Although purely for comedy value, I'd love to see them dumped off with Auntie Janine.

I can't say I'll miss Ricky at all. He's just so weak. He's nothing without Bianca, and I never actually bought into their marriage this time around. The weddings ep were spectacular but the build up was so quick. Ricky fancies Sam, Ricky and Sam are over, suddenly all is rosy with Ricky and Bianca. Ridiculous.

YOU GUYS.

GLENDA IS LEAVING. Next month! Apparently

she's driven out of the Square by everybody so I guess she reveals the truth about the Phil affair and it backfires on her

.

I'm REALLY gutted about this. She's been the most consistently good character for the last six months. UGH.

OH NOES

12 months ago I would have had the bunting out, but this actually genuinely makes me sad. Glynis Barber is rubbish, but in a thoroughly endearing way - it actually ADDS to the trashiness of the character.

Glynis' friend posts on Walford Web and hinted a while back that she wouldn't be around much longer. I think it was always the plan but it does seem odd that she won't around to witness the baby swap reveal. However I think Glynis likes to divide her time between the UK and LA and will probably be back in a year or two, maybe when Ronnie comes back.

In other news...

Neil McDermott (Ryan) shagged a 16 year old not long after his wife gave birth and it's all over the Sunday tabloids. He's confessed and everything. Almost certain for a suspension. Things really aren't looking good for EE at the minute.

Im disgusted with Neil McDermott, cheating is bad enough but cheating when his wife has so recently given birth is awful, his wife must be in bits.
That's MADNESS. Let's be honest, Neil McDermott could have his pick of women (and men) to shag without having to resort to almost-cradle snatching.

If it were me I'd have him suspended at least six months. Not that he won't be suffering as it is what with his family no doubt falling apart, but you just don't behave like that - especially not when you're a public figure. And they booted Melissa out on account of 'bad behaviour' so they'd really have no excuse for not getting rid at least for a short time.

Apparently Neil was on leave until late Feb and due back on screen in April before this news broke so perhaps he just won't return to work at all now.

So that's Glenda and Ronnie gone, Ricky on leave, Bianca on maternity leave, Jane soon to be on maternity leave, and now Ryan. OH DEAR

Worrying isn't it?

Still, there's a whole new Moon clan coming in (who I feel have been unfairly judged based on surname alone), Martina, Fatboy's father, Yusef who is showing great promise already, and reputedly another Gold.

Glad to hear there's a new Gold coming in, because they REALLY need to do something with Vanessa. Jodie's settled in OK, but Vanessa is still a very much isolated figure who only really interacts with about 5 people in the entire cast. And I'm still disappointed that there was never any follow-up on the whole Max actually being prepared to leave her for Stacey thing. It seems like the writers have kind of shoved Zoe Lucker to one side.

Shut up James.

Firstly, she's amazing, and secondly there's a reasonable chance she'll be coming back in the not-too-distant future.

I think Zoe Lucker is just on leave at the minute but you're right Shoat, she's been on pause for a while now in terms of character development. Hopefully

Max's accident on Tanya's wedding day

fixes this rather than

sending him back into Tanya's arms because if they do that there'll literally be mass outrage.
