I don't like the new Lauren, its laughable in some places, as if the family haven't noticed the difference.

I just hope the new Lucy is better, as I'm going to miss Melissa

I agree about the Lauren bit 100%, but you're going to miss Melissa!?

SERIOUSLY :o

Easily the worst actress I have ever seen in my life. I actually found scenes with her in embarassing to watch!

Was it just me or did anyone else hear Kat shout "Oi Charlie" instead of "Oi Janine"?

I watched it last night and liked the new Lauren. She wasn't a pain in the arse, misery guts like the old one.

Kath

I'm at Uni and it's been pretty hectic the past few weeks so i'm just catching up.

So, is all forgiven again where Glenda is concerned? Didn't she know about the Ronnie abuse??

Glenda must be the oddest character at the moment, with inferno appearances and random Leon-sh***ing, god knows what the writers mean for her to be, don't mind the new Lauren, though I would hardly go into mourning for the old one, give her a chance guys.

I've just caught up on the all powerful I-player. Not a bad week so far.

I've noticed that one of the Kirkwood effects seems to be increased BANTER between characters; often the most random and unrelated. Alfie roaming around the Square making friends with everyone is a big factor I guess. Alfie may be an irritating character himself, but I think what he does do is bring out the best in those around him. In an unexpected way, I think he's actually making a more immediate impact than Kat. The Slaters in particular are full of life again, even that useless oaf Charlie. And Stacey SMILING for at least 2 seconds :o

Is Mercy's grandmother a regular character now then, or is she the new Aunt Sal?

On the Glenda issue; I think it's quite clear the writers didn't and still don't have any real clue where she sits, and they're still very much blundering their way through. It was clear from her very first appearance that she wasn't going to be the replacement Peggy that they'd been hoping for, and so whilst they try to figure out an alternative, they've just had her merrily coming and going, swanning off there, getting involved in a mess over there, bedding teenagers...this bookie outing is just their latest experiment with her.

I can't believe no one's popped in here and generally ROFLED all over the show after that IMMENSE Stacey/Janine fight  They've both just confirmed why they are my favourite characters. And I LOVE that Stacey gave her a punch for Danielle as well.
Aye, tonight's episode was a cracker! Janine on fine form.
But i did think the alliance with Kat & Shirley was a bit forced.
It was WONDERFUL. Stacey being HOISTED out of it whilst still kicking and screaming about wanting to damage Janine was just the tits.
That fight was brilliant! Nice to see a "proper" fight in a soap every now and again, as opposed to the occasional slap or two....

That fight scene was IMMENSE. I particularly liked Christian getting a sly dig at Masood over it all.

Zsa Zsa and Leon's exits were suitably $h!t. Bar Peggy, Kirkwood really isn't giving the departees ANY dignity at all!

Yay! The best soap brawl of 2010. I loved the fury in Stacey's eyes when Janine mentioned Bradley. It's like us the audience sees that 'Bradley' is a timebomb ticking away at Stacey.

The brawl was great it was spot on and well done. EastEnders is in top shape at the moment and has fantastic interaction which is great and storylines are building and brewing away in the backround. Kat is just a ray of light for me and i love kat and stacey together just a shame it will be short lived. Ryan has really turned in a good charactor and a strong one to that has huge potential to go even further, they have developed his charactor very well.

I agree about the departures they were crap but i didnt expect any different and i think its fair to say neither will be missed from the show.

Vanessa is truly a future classic character. Her scene with Jodie tonight was particularly understated and well played.

Vanessa is good but she's a lot more Hollyoaks than EE.

Was she in Hollyoaks?

I will be interested to see how Vanessa turns out as a charactor now, i have this feeling she will end up dead wood as i sense they dont really know what they will do with her.
