More half naked Connor tonight

Is that like in his contract or something?! Not that I'm complaining obviously!

As for what's been said about the baby swap storyline, I have to say I'm on the side which says all of the complaints and moaning and outrage is RIDICULOUS. The amount of people on my Facebook I want to slap for refusing to watch Eastenders purely because of this storyline makes my mind boggle. It's obviously not real. Yes, it's very dramatic, very sensitive and very upsetting - but it's television and I agree with Tyron (and maybe some others), the acting and drama is truly an art form at the moment. Superb. The scripts have got it all spot on too. (which makes me sad that its now all ending early, possibly meaning some less-than-superb scripts/acting/story-telling in general and bringing the whole thing to an abrupt and shoddy end.)

I can understand why Eastenders would bring it to an early end though - as much as I think all of the complaints are stupid. It really is getting SO much coverage that there's a chance it'll damage the brand and completely alienate certain people from watching. That's not good, however much you believe in your storylines. Sad but inevitable I think.

WHAAAAAT was that Jodie + friend scene that dragged on forever all about?

Jodie + friend are actual living, breathing QoLs. I'm guessing their scenes were filler storyline shot at last minute because the rest of the episode has obviously been chopped down. The spoilers for tomorrow make no sense coming after tonight's episode so I guess the whole week has been edited.

I'm thinking Ronnie's never going to bond with the baby (whereas initially she was meant to this week) which will mean she can give him back much sooner and without any trauma on her part.

The Jodie + friend scene was BEYOND bizarre, but it was actually a little bit wonderful.

^Agreed with JamesP.

It was CLEARLY out of place and filmed/written at last minute, you could kind of see the scriptwriters reaching the natural end of the scene, and thinking $h!t WE STILL NEED 2 MORE MINUTES and then plucking another random topic for Jodie and her friend to talk about. But at the same time, it was JOYOUSLY vapid, and Poppy needs to become a frequent visitor to the Square.

On another happy note, JEAN!! Her sudden reappearance (with new hair) also gave the rapid re-write game away, but I adored her today, and I think I love the Jean/Kat bond.

Apparently it was only shot yesterday so I was right about the last minute edits. We'll probably be seeing a lot of this sort of thing over the next few weeks, courtesy of the OFCOM-happy whingers.

Poppy was a nice addition actually, I thought I was watching neighbours for a minute.

She was like an Essex hybrid of Summer off Neighbours and Lauren Branning!

Thankfully this Poppy was actually a good actress unlike the one that appeared in Neighbours recently.

So is Charlie's departure permanent?

Yes

Don;t you remember. He was axed alongside the several other characters when the new producer took over. It just took them ages to come up with a storyline to write him out

Great having Jean back so soon and thats thanks to the re writes im sire, i loved her serious scenes with jack and her partly crazy scene with the priest.

That conversation between Poppy and Jodie was brilliant. Couldn't stop laughing. I reckon that might of been ab libbed. It didn't seem scripted at all.

Great seeing jean back. Great performance from her. Gillian Wright is totally underated in her role as Jean. Never recieves any acclaim.

New upcoming story:

EastEnders Phil Mitchell will propose to Shirley Carter in an upcoming plot, it has been reported.

The garage owner - played by Steve McFadden - will apparently re-evaluate his relationship with Shirley (Linda Henry), when he survives a heart attack later this month. However, The Mirror claims that Shirley will turn down the proposal at first.

"He has been married several times before so he doesn't have a great record," a source told the paper. "There are sure to be a few twists and turns before they make it down the aisle."

However, Glenda Mitchell (Glynis Barber) will threaten to leave Shirley devastated, by revealing her secret liaisons with Phil.

"Phil will have to work hard if he is going to marry," the insider added. "EastEnders has been hit by complaints with the cot death and baby swap storyline getting people talking about the soap for the wrong reasons."

I hope they stick to it this time, because fabulous as Phil and Shirley are, I am quite sick of the constant will-they-won't-they now. Everytime they look like they're going to be happy ever after, Phil goes out and sleeps with his aunt or gets himself hooked on crack, and it's more frustrating than entertaining when the two of them are apart and bickering.
I hope they keep them together aswell and they make a great double act and work well together, shirley is the best woman suited to phil ever i think.
Sharon and Phil were the best-suited. Shirley's a close second.

Not at all. Shirley is almost an equal to Phil in being a hard-faced old c**t, and is much more capable of calling him out on his s**t.

Sharon was strong, but at the same time far too emotional and nice to ever cope with a full-blown relationship with Phil Mitchell.
