April 19, 201114 yr LOL. I loved their version of London. I've never seen such a failed attempt at recreating another city before, so obviously Toronto with the occasional London underground sign on the wall. Edited April 19, 201114 yr by ▲▲▲

I was wondering if it was the actual London or if they used some cutaways from another series. And then that woman with the overly English accent came out of the car and I just went :|
April 19, 201114 yr I was wondering if it was the actual London or if they used some cutaways from another series. And then that woman with the overly English accent came out of the car and I just went :| Haha. I've always loved the stereotypical American idea of a British person. It was just such a lazy recreation, when they were running to the bridge and the street had no similarities to anywhere in England (one of the cars I saw even had a Canadian number plate). I know they're probably trying to save as much money as possible being on the CW but it was quite amusing.
April 19, 201114 yr And then that woman with the overly English accent came out of the car and I just went :| I thought that. I was staring at the TV with a general  face. Other than the appalling attempt at the recreation of London, it was a pretty decent episode.

Clearly just the back streets of LA. They didn't even bother using European cars either, just American spec ones that you find nowhere outside of Northern America. There's one episode where they have a VW Toureg and they have a European license plate very badly stuck to the back of the car because they couldn't even be arsed to ask VW for a car with a rear license plate slot big enough for a standard EU plate. At least Bones actually filmed in London. I don't think i've seen a US TV show with a decent portrayal of a Brit. Traffic Light just ignores the fact that Kris Marshal is British and the rest seem to go with this view that we all sip tea with a pinky sticking out and all talk like we went to eton.

But Alias' foreign countries scenes were mostly inside the buildings or just narrow view of the building itself. Plus accents were HORRIBLE. I couldn't figure our what she was saying all the time when she was speaking russian. :/ Could've brought in a couple of linguists, wouldn't have hurt really. It'd be hard to recreate the view on Thames and a lot of nearby buildings

My love for Sydney Bristow completely overtook me and I rarely noticed the small quirks, although their portrayal of the Brits all wearing bow-ties was hilarious. The first two seasons of Alias were actual genius (loved season three but definitely somewhat lacking compared to the first two) but when ABC started interfering everything went downhill. Sometimes I like to pretend season four and five never happened.
April 21, 201114 yr YOU ARE RUSSIAN? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS? Yes. Got bored of the russian flag on my profile and changed it to much more marvellous Hong Kong.
April 29, 201114 yr THAT ENDING :o  Can't wait for the last two episodes now, gonna be brilliant Is that really the last of Jaden?
April 29, 201114 yr Oooo the ending to this episode was AMAZING! Love it when she just floored Alex so easily, hehe.

It'd be hard to recreate the view on Thames and a lot of nearby buildings :lol:It doesn't stop a very lot of people faking London and the UK. It's very easy to spot though. The foreign country scenes were diabolical most of the time. The car chase through Switzerland was amusing, they use a US spec Ford Focus. The difference is small, but noticable and I am nothing if not a total car geek. American's tend to be dire at accents and speaking any language, they can't even get English right so there's not much hope for them getting a foreign language correct. American arrogance over their portrayal of European's, our cultures and our languages gets a more than a little irritating. YOU ARE RUSSIAN? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS? The first two seasons of Alias were actual genius (loved season three but definitely somewhat lacking compared to the first two) but when ABC started interfering everything went downhill. Sometimes I like to pretend season four and five never happened. The time shift did rather bugger things up. I spent most of season three wishing grievous bodily harm on Lauren, the vile slag. Season 5 was a pointless endeavour. Why does nobody know how to write a series finale???
April 30, 201114 yr THE ENDING. I love how fast-paced everything about this show is, it's definitely refreshing. We'd usually have to wait an entire season (or even multiple) before secrets are revealed, key characters die, people get found out etc. The start of the series was definitely ropey but it's all coming together brilliantly. Obviously it's not going to win any awards but it's nice to watch something completely lacking in pretension and is just pure entertainment. Amanda is so f***ing badass. I can imagine Percy dying in the season finale and then her taking over Division. She's a psycho ice-bitch and far more intimidating than him.
May 6, 201114 yr DID YOU KILL MY FATHER? I really didn't see that twist coming. I need the finale. Now. And it better only be the season finale and not series, CW ;) 0.8 in the over-nights, up from it's series low 0.6 last week and higher than Hellcats (& OTH this week). Should be pretty safe, but I want a press release. Edited May 6, 201114 yr by Jaack Sykes
May 7, 201114 yr f***! This just keeps getting better. Edit: I love how Percy came out of his shell finally, he's a badass puppemaster. Edited May 7, 201114 yr by ▲▲▲
May 14, 201114 yr Bit disappointed with the finale, no lives seem to be hanging in the balance, no BIG cliffhanger. But I am interested in the Amanda/Alex stuff for next season (which it better get!)
May 14, 201114 yr ^ I would say it was quite a big twist at the end, what with Amanda and everything. I hope it gets renewed...
May 15, 201114 yr The first season has averaged 2.41 million viewers. Does anyone know if that will be enough to guarantee a renewal?
