After taking a long look at the dying success of the Artist Forums and thinking about what can be done to reverse their decline, we have decided to close forum requests indefinitely.

 

From now on, all forums will be added at the discretion of members of management in a fair vote. We believe members of management have all been around long enough to know whether a forum is likely to work.

 

Additionally, we are currently discussing the closure of another set of Artist Forums. Between 11 and 26 forums will be archived or closed indefinitely in the coming months. PMs will be sent out to effected mods in the next few days.

think we all need to do everything we can to boost activity, now that we finally got an Alicia Forum lets not loose it :(

I agree. I keep meaning to update the chart runs and stuff, but my laptops f***ed and when I can use it I can't be arsed to update :lol:

 

Any ideas on how we may be able to keep this going?? Post in the Off-Topic thread if you want. Lets just not lose it. I''m sure once she's had her baby, people will start talking about her more and wanting to see pics of her baby etc... It's no different to when Christina took time off for her kid and her forum was still being used. :D

I'm guessing the 'management' have based decision on recent activity and it had recently gone quite quiet in here, for which we are all to blame. I wish I'd had more time to post pictures up, more time to get info and post it. I even forgot to do the weekly radio air-play stuff (My bad).

I found all the chart runs and video stuff you pinned so useful. It'll be a shame to loose it.

 

can we lodge an appeal ? Or do we try and get everyone who supported the forum to lobby the management?

 

Or do we just have to accept that Alicia's fanbase in Buzzjack is fairly small and the forum is always going to struggle.

seems odd as didn't she come 5th or 6th in the favourite females poll recently in The Lounge ?

 

I don't know what else to suggest at the moment. I'll keep thinking. Initially I think we need to appeal to management to re-look at their decision. One of the biggest artists in the world and BJ doesn't have an AF for her ? Hardly good for attracting new members.

 

I am disappointed and saddened by this. :(

could we use the forum's banner, change the wording to say something like "save the Alicia Keys Forum" and add it as our signature (or whatever the pictures at the foot of people posts are called !!). Maybe try and get everyone in here to do the same, means it appears everywhere we post, bring the strength of feeling and support to management attention?

I'm no good with that sort of thing but maybe you could have a go ? (Or whoever did the banner ? was it Theo ?)

 

and when they get fed up with seeing it everywhere we could promise to remove them in return for our forum :) hee hee

I'm going to apologise for being really lazy and not updating recently. But apparently 'Wait Till They See My Smile' was played on Radio 1 earlier and was announced as the new single? :unsure: Looking into it. So hopefully if it is, then we will get a tiny bit busier. Just keep posting things on how we can save this forum. Let's try something like a singles rate or something? People like doing them currently...

As a former GM who overlooked this area and on Coolclarity, i understand the management's reasons for wanting to close inactive forums. It's important

we maintain a thriving personal charts area and not have it cluttered up with inactivity.

I hope you can somehow manage to overcome the problem and bring it active again.

She is a very popular artist and if you keep looking for enough news on her, you could generate more postings.

Look out for Alicia Keys fans on other sites (facebook/last.fm/forums/youtube) and invite them to come here.
