November 24, 201014 yr I wasnt in college today so I couldnt do the walk-out  seems to have gone well though :D Perhaps you should have staged a walk in
November 24, 201014 yr These are some of the pictures I took/& found from the MK protest/walk out today: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/5530/photo1117.jpg http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/3990/photo1123f.jpg http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/6154/photo1128b.jpg http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/424/photo1133u.jpg I don't have Sky+, but a mate of mine who recorded me on bbc news is going to cap it and send it to me, so I'll upload a picture tomorrow :w00t: If there's another London protest, I'm deffo going to that one (I would have today, but I overslept :( )
November 25, 201014 yr A video from London: http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2010/n...hildren-streets It gets interesting halfway through when you hear what a few of the students had to say about the policevan in the middle of the street (which has been getting a lot of press attention), seriously - FUCK THE PIGS. It's also clear that a lot of the violence caused was just caused by people who most probably don't even have a hope in hell of getting into University anyway! ... but peaceful protests just don't work. It's like seeing the 21st Century era of punk!
November 25, 201014 yr Michael Gove gave an interview to the Guardian just before the election. Here's an extract 10. Why has only one Conservative MP signed the early day motion supporting the Education Maintenance Allowance? Many students believe you will scrap it. Shane Chowen, National Union of Students, London NW1 Ed Balls keeps saying that we are committed to scrapping the EMA. I have never said this. We won't. Why are the Tories not getting any grief over that broken pledge?
November 25, 201014 yr Another day of protests is planned for next tuesday. this is some of the best amount of action i have ever seen against the government, i love how the first day really was only the beginning.
November 26, 201014 yr Another day of protests is planned for next tuesday. It should be banned. If Cameron had anything about him he'd get the Met to ban it as the first two have ended in trouble. Also students should be in lectures or studying and not out protesting.
November 26, 201014 yr No idea what Crazy Chris just said there, but, as I have no doubt it was something ridiculously inflammatory and moronic, don't respond to him.

November 26, 201014 yr No idea what Crazy Chris just said there, but, as I have no doubt it was something ridiculously inflammatory and moronic, don't respond to him. he basically suggested David Cameron should do something which would lead to more protest, Cameron is an idiot, but he is not that much of an idiot.
November 26, 201014 yr he basically suggested David Cameron should do something which would lead to more protest, Cameron is an idiot, but he is not that much of an idiot. He was also suggesting that Cameron should exercisre a power he hasn't got.

As the last two ended in violence and the last one saw a PC with a broken arm it seems a pretty strong case to me. Edited November 26, 201014 yr by Common Sense

A PC with a broken arm, oh no, what about all the innocent students who werent violent who got kettled by the police?
November 27, 201014 yr ...But that the Metropolitan Police do have. ;) AFAIK they can apply to a magistrate to have any march or demonstration banned as "it may endanger public safety". As the last two ended in violence and the last one saw a PC with a broken arm it seems a pretty strong case to me. The PC with a broken arm has what was coming to him, no one was violent until the kettle started, and the van that got trashed was planted by police as they knew people would trash it, i.e they rigged the whole kettling thing to make students look bad. Protesters as young as 14 were trapped for 8 hours without food, water or toilet, and furthurmore they were trapped for no real reason apart from the fact the met police don't know how to handle things right, if you think it is ethical for 14 year olds to be not let out of a confined space for 7-8 hours with no food water or a hygenic place to p*** then you are f***ed in the head, there were kids actually crying and pleading to police to let them out - and the police didnt let them out, how would you feel if your daughter was there? quite frankly it's f***ing horrifying that the police acted this way on wednesday, they are f***ing lucky that all that happened was one got a broken arm, the police created the violence to give them an excuse to be violent back, one person who was there i was talking to told me his friend got repeatedly battered in the head by a policeman and got concussed, this person had done nothing wrong apart from use his RIGHT to protest. f*** if i was stuck in a confined space with no food, water or toilet for 8 hours, the frustration would make me f***ing violent too.
November 27, 201014 yr Here is a video of our police force hard at work: rgxwTF-qeAo whoever it was who organised the police on Wednesday should be fired and arrested. Moments after the horse charge, the video shows a pregnant woman in considerable distress. The radio station LBC identified the woman, named Anastasia, who said she was pushed by the horse into a corner. "I thought: 'That's the end of me and the baby' – that's the idea that went through my head," she said. Sara Tomlinson, 45, and Margot Turner, 55, two mothers, also confirmed they were charged when they arrived to collect their children, who were being "kettled". "We were running and trying not to fall over," said Tomlinson. Jenny Love, 22, who graduated from Bath University in July, said: "When the horses charged I was fairly near the front of the demo, where we were very tightly packed in, and found myself very quickly on the floor where I assumed the foetal position and covered my head while people simply ran over me." http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/nov/26/s...lice-under-fire

Absolute cunts!!! To actually charge on horses at protesters, from the age of 14 to maybe 20's, who are purposely kept there by the police because they wouldn't let them out - it's fukking sick! :@
