Kickstarting the countdown in last place, is her 4th single (2nd UK single). The very soulful and delicate 'The Trouble With Love Is'. I wasn't much a fan of Kelly back then, but this is a nice song but she's had superior singles which are head and shoulders above this. It pales in comparison to the likes of 'Sober', 'Already Gone', 'Because Of You' and I think I even prefer 'Where Is Your Heart'... It's not awful. Just not that great either...

Poor TTWLI :( The worst of a good bunch though!

Her vocals are amazing on this, but it really poor for the rest :(

Poor Trouble With Love :( I suppose it was inevitable and to some extents it sticks out a bit like a sore thumb in her back catalogue of singles. It fits the theme of a cheesy chick-flick movie very well, and seeing as Love Actually is a film I adore I have to admit to absolutely loving this :wub:

The whole Thankful era was quite :/ in some places bar Miss Independent (the diamond in the rough). The album was the furthest thing from a Kelly Clarkson album. You can tell Kelly had very little say at that point (The P!nk comparisons just keep on growing).

That's the same with most first albums from reality TV show winners though, I think it's safe to say what she became from Breakaway onwards has made her the Kelly we all know and love.

I think you see more development with Kelly as an artist than you do with most people these days. She isnt the kind to constantly change her image or her videos or whatever but she isnt afraid to try new things and grow as a singer and a songwriter. I made my cousin go to Kelly's last tour and she wasn't too sure about it cos Kelly came from a reality TV show but theres so much more substance to Kelly than just the girl who won the first American Idol.

Up next is the single which kickstarted her career and gave her, her very first number 1 hit single in the US! It was the first song she released after she won American Idol back in 2002! ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO! Well, almost enough :heehee: It is probably better known in the UK for being covered by Leona Lewis after she won The X Factor. I actually really love both versions. It's just, both artists have a stronger back catalogue of singles and album tracks. Nice song none-the-less.

Oh the comparisons the Leona Lewis fans made between KCs performance and Leona's after they won. Im sorry I thought Kelly just won something that changed her life forever. Simon Cowell never said one bad thing about her throughout her time at American Idol.

Anyway, its a nice enough song but I say the same for this song as I did for the rest of Thankful. (see above)

'Don't Waste Your Time' appears next in the countdown. One of her more underrated and under appreciated tracks. It was set to be the second single here in the UK, but I think it got cancelled or something. Shame really, it wasn't single material, however it had a bloody brilliant video. One of my fave Kelly vids. Deserves so much more love than it actually gets. I still maintain 'My December' to be the most underrated album ever though!

I never understood the hate for this track, I know a lot of people on here dont like it...

Here we have the fourth US Radio only single from the album of the same name, 'All I Ever Wanted'. It managed to reach the top 100 on the Hot 100 charts and peak at 96 or something, but managed to get a good 4 or 5 weeks inside the BBH100 with this song. Had this been given a video and a little bit of promotion, there's no doubt in my mind this could have been a bit bigger. It's alright. But compared to the rest of the album, it kinda pales in comparison... although I love her attitude on this. But 'Whyyawannabringmedown' >>>>> 'All I Ever Wanted' imo :P

Ew, 'Don't Waste Your Time' should be way higher than 'All I Ever Wanted'. I love it, the lyrics and video are amazing.

A batch of songs there who probably finished in their deserved posistions. I like her version of Moment Like This, but no more so than Leona's version - good for a listen every now and then but as pointed out, both artists have gone to much better things.

I actually think of Dont Waste Your Time as quite a weak track compared to quite a lot of the rest of the gorgous My December album. I found it quite a generic combination of the albums representation and a bad choice of single.

All I Ever Wanted is also a very good track, but again, much better on the album.

The Trouble With Love Is - amazing, one of her best ballads ever imo. So underated

Next up is the Australian Only single from the 'My December' era, 'One Minute'. This song is alright, but I definitely prefer 'Hole' out of the two. I don't know why but I always clump them two together. :lol: I can't believe how f***ed up the label did with the 'My December' singles. After a promising start with 'Never Again', they go and f*** up the promotion, future single releases and it was just one hot mess. The MD era would have gone 'Never Again', 'Sober' and then 'How I Feel' had I had any say in it. :lol:
