Promise This now #2. Definitely going to go to #1 before X Factor.

As for sales, we'll probably get a better idea when we see what Bruno sold this week. She's definitely on course for over 100k though with ease

Rihanna shooting up the chart :D

Hmmm... one version of [seek] Bromance falls out and is instantly replaced by another one...

Cheryl at number 2!!! :yahoo:

Come on Rihanna bring some fire on Tweedy and climb girl.

PSB are heading for top-40. :o It's the initial fanbase buying though, they're on course of slumping by the end of the week. But it's still very good surprise for me. :)

Only Girl :dancing: Top 10 in no time & #2 in a few hours i hope :D

Cheryl will be #1 long before x factor & probably have one huge lead even before x factor, i can see sales near 180,000 in one week :o

Yes and people were underestimating her! she is a force not to be reckoned with :P

I was wondering about this, obviously each year that goes by sales are usually getting higher (in singles anyway), and I was wondering that even though it's taking a tiny bit longer (not much by the looks of it) to storm up to the top, could it roughly be on the same level as Fight? As on average, it would need more downloads to surpass everything? Does this make sense? I'm not sure i worded it right.

Like for example. If the #10 song was selling 100 copies an hour last year but is selling 150 copies this year, it would take more copies to be sold to overtake it. Does this make sense on what I'm trying to ask?

ya'know i totally get you, and i wondered the same meself, and PT is only like an hour or so behind Fight which isnt much, you might be onto a winner there! be interesting to see how the week pans out, Fight had an amazing lead and was consistant, but Cheryl is very topical after last night, then with a big performance tonight, she may very well outdo her own amazing success this week! But i highly doubt PT will go on to be a million-seller (which Fight will eventually achieve in the next year or so, its #95 still i think)

ATM, I once again I have the bizarre situation where the length of the pop bars do not match up with the stated positions. :P

Because Cheryl's popularity is growing to much for them to keep up

Actually we agree Cheryl is a force not to be reckoned with.

The pop-bars updates and the actual feed updates very often don't coincide, it's nothing bizarre in it. :P

Anyway, I just checked last year's iTunes.

Cheryl was #4 at 1.25 AM; #2 at 10.25 AM, behind Alexandra with a HUGE lead. And she was #1 at 12.06:

iTunes Popularity Bars from 18.10.2009, 12.15:

Cheryl Cole episode of life stories had 7.2m viewers (37.5% share) and a peak of 7.82m

Thats the highest rated episode ever, Simon Cowells overnight was 5.2m, the previous high.

That could be closer to 8m in the actuals, and of course will help out Promise This and Messy Little Raindrops hugley!

**off topic - but if anybody is interesed, last nights XF peaked at 13.7m**

Alas, this is the UK. Nobody is going to outsell Cheryl Cole - she could be burping the alphabet and it'd be no. 2 on iTunes already. Gotta give Cheryl credit, the marketing and promoting surrounding 'Promise This' has been absolutely fantastic.

Proof that you don't need a fantastic song to go to no. 1 - fantastic hype/TV exposure/promotion/Piers Morgan sells the song instead. :kink:

Anyways, Rihanna at #14 is good enough for this early stage. 'Only Girl' could well be top 3 at least by the end of today. I expect we'll see a boost in sales for 'Hollywood' by Michael Buble after 21:00pm tonight.
