Cheryl has around 150% percent more than Bruno.

Last week no.2- sold 60-66k if in this week no.3 will sell a similar number of copies Cheryl will sell around 150-165 k, imho it's not possible that someone else may sell more even with X-Factor performance.

That would be quite a come down from last year's lead single. FFTL sold 290,000 in its first week I think.

If anyone wants one then here's an Itunes Albums Chart update:

[3] The Wanted – The Wanted

[4] Taylor Swift – Speak Now

[5] Swedish House Mafia – Until One

[7] Sons Of Admirals - Sons Of Admirals

[8] Joe McElderry - Wide Awake :o

[11] BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge Vol.5

[23] Charlotte Church - Back To Scratch (I think it would have done better if released during Over The Rainbow)

[34] Elton John & Leon Russel - The Union

[36] Warpaint - The Fool

[53] Lauren Pritchard - Wasted In Jackson

[58] Bryan Ferry - Olympia

Robbie's album has slipped down a lot (only just in Top.40) :o

I said it before, I'll say it again - iTunes album sales mean NOTHING.

if cheryl didnt get her wee spot on the xfactor theres no way she would be heading for numbr one this week imo.i expect it to be still close enough and by wednesday rihanna should be ahead on itunes - will it be enough to get her the number 1 on sunday tho?should be an interesting week though with the top 2 both breaking the 100k barrier. As an neutral in the battle and having no allegience to either artist rihannas song is by far the better of the 2 - in fact cheryls song is quite annoying (just my opinion tho of course).rihanna could well hit the top spot next week.

it will be interesting to see how high buble rises in the chart this week too - hollywood could hit the top 10 with its 2 versions in the top 20 - the album could go top3 again though!!on tim berg - i had a feeling bromance wouldn't do overly well this week - its not distinctive enough for a dance song - i hear it 5 times a day on radio 1 and yet still couldnt tell you how it goes - it just passes me by.it could be top 10 tho as with most dance tunes it will have multiple versions on itunes!!

And a best selling single this year ;)

I actually think that both Cheryl and Rihanna will sell over 100k - just maybe???

 Can Rihanna can sell over 100k this week and the next, being the first song this year to do so? (excluding the HH charity single)

Thanks for posting surprised Joe is only at 8, I hope he will at least be TOP 10 in the mids.Alexandra Burke just confirmed the next single will be The Silence.

Booyeah at The Silence finally being confirmed as a single! Hope it can do very well even though it being the fifth single (sixth including SWY that will be on re-release) from the album.

True, I always buy them as physical but I thought that I should just post them here as the chart usually gives an idea on how people are doing on the albums chart also so that maybe people might talk about something else apart from the Cheryl-Rihanna affair on right now!

Parachute got to #1 on the Romanian airplay chart (it beat Alors on danse, for goodness sake)! Was this all down to the X Factor, or down to Cheryl beaing "Romania's sweetheart". Was this because Cheryl divorced, or because she got malaria? Does anyone in Romania even care about that, or did it just get so much airplay because people liked it?

Here's the proof btw. http://www.upfr.ro/top20.html

3 Words (the song) also went top 10 in Australia, Hungary and Italy.

Infact, it got #5 in Australia, with a chart run of 25-9-11-9-9-5-6-8-13-14-14-20-29-32-35-48, which is very decent, when you compare it to it's UK chart run (it was top 10 in Australia for one and a half months).

It also peaked at #5 in Hungary, of all places, only one place lower than its UK peak. Here's the proof: http://www.mahasz.hu/?menu=slagerlistak&am...bmit_=Keres%E9s

And Fight For This Love went to #1 in Denmark and Norway (for 3 weeks inbetween Telephone and Stereo Love), and #2 in the Netherlands and Sweden, and went top 10 in over 15 countries. It got to #3 in the European charts, and reached #1 on the Hungary airplay charts.

And follow this link to see how Fight For This Love was #1 on this chart for 14 weeks: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_numbe..._2010_(Hungary)

The people in those countries are NOT watching Cheryl every weekend on the X Factor.

That said, I do honestly prefer Rihanna's song.

From 11-25 on itunes, It's soooo close !

Cheryl Cole does have number one in the bag though.

how much share of the market do the other online music stores have in the UK??

Quite small, I would imagine. Maybe like 20% if you combined them all?

To be fair the Hungarian market is very small, CD sales are so low, it is really difficult to measure, so I would say the Hungarian chart is not really a basic of success. But I heard Fight For This Love a couple of times on the radio, so it was quite high on the airplay chart. But I can tell you she is not as big (in Hungary) as those charts show.

You forgot about the German charts though, which is lot more important than the Hungarian chart. She was as high as #4 in Germany if I remember well, in fact FFTL was number 1 on the German iTunes ;)

I can't be bothered to check, but I'm sure FFTL was also very high in Austria and Switzerland too.

Just an addition to that post, and now back on topic :D

Anyway, moving back to iTunes... judging by my current pop bars:

Cheryl is ~32% ahead of Rihanna (although that doesn't count the numerous multiple versions outside the top 100, which adds a couple of percent?), who is pretty much exactly double (100%) that of Bruno Mars' bar. Cee-Lo is #4 combined and ~19% off Bruno Mars, and about 15% ahead of Katy Perry.

I can definitely see the top 2 both selling over 100k this week, for sure.

Am I the only one SICK of all this Cheryl vs. Rihanna nonsense? :drama:

Buble is doing very well with Hollywood :o Shame it is bloody terrible. Cry Me A River deserved to do this well

On another note, I am looking forward to Sunday to be able to download Ed Drewett's single. :dancing: Miles better than Cheryl and Rihanna.

I wouldn't say this thread has a bad reputation... yeah, a few arguments which is fairly inevitable, but it still has plenty of interesting information and IMO probably the most useful thread on this site (well, along with things like the Sunday Chart Predictions, sales info etc). Why else would it always be filled with dozens of guests? Surely most of them are the same people coming back, rather than new people every time who run away as soon as they see the discussion. :heehee:

It does have a lot of interesting information and is pretty useful, but it's definitely by far the most infamous thread on the site because it attracts all the worst stans whenever their artist releases anything/has even the slightest element of competition. Even when they're not it's just filled with the same old people babbling over and over again the same thing as they have done for the last year or so about how much they hate urban music (unless, of course, it's sung by a pretty woman :manson:). Certainly if Buzzjack got a pound every time we witnessed the by now traditional 'ugh, artist x doesn't deserve to be that high' 'how can you say that, look who's in your signature!' <cue massive loon argument> routine Phil could probably retire early.

SPOT ON! :teresa:

Hollywood at #14 & #19, where is it in the top 10 with both added together does anyone know?

F**k You at #20 and Forget You at #7, top 5?

Devlin has done really well, I dont think anyone has noticed  - it would be great if it could get top 10, better than both Rihanna and Cheryl IMO ^_^
