So about 200K for KOL... It is much better that what I expected!

ISTM that is wildly optimistic - I suspect you are using the discredited 3-1 ratio?

IMO they will manage 160-170k, on a more realistic 2.25-1 figure.

No chance!

There are just 11 sales weeks left, and the gap is 431.6k - an average of 39k/wk to reach Em/Ri's *current* total, never mid what they'll sell themselves over the remaining period...

well it's pretty much locked that by the end of this week the gap will bo shorten to 340k, which will leave Bruno to sell more than 30k in next 10 weeks.

Yes, but his sales will fall off steadily, once the XF effect fades - as it already seems to be doing.

He certainly won't be selling anything like 30k in 10 weeks time...

unless Matt choses it as his favourite performance and does it again near the end.

Of course we are just estimating, but it's not like he is not showing some staying power.

from next week he will probably go 60k+, 50k+ (total of more than 500k in his 7th week), 2 weeks 40k+, 2 week 30k+ (650k) and another 120k (770k) for 5 other weeks until the end.

yeah it looks like it will be a close battle between Em and Bruno.

Of course he won't, but he doesn't need too, because the next 4-5 weeks I think he'll still be selling well over that. It will surprise me if 'Just the Way You Are' isn't within 50k either side of 'Love the Way You Lie' by end of year.

Looks like Joe will drop from #6 to Top 30 - what a flop!

Ah, but what about the 75-100k Em&Ri will themselves sell in the remaining 11 weeks...

But you're not expecting Bruno to sell only 30k in next 11 weeks...he is about to do around 95k this week, than 70k, 60k etc etc.

I am perhaps slightly out of the loop with chart things nowadays, but it seems like the X-Factor effect isn't as strong as it was last year.

Oh DEAR at Joe tanking. :manson: Nice to see Katy Perry doing well, best song on the album in my opinion and her performance on the X-Factor was brillianttttt in my opinionionion. Shame DiVi isn't doing better like. Aslong as it works for the Cole next week I will survive. :drama:

So far most of the songs haven't really had a chance

Usher's tracks had already been released

Joe's had 0 airplay, was a cover, and was generally bad

Diana Vicker's had the same problem as Joe in a lack of airplay and promo by other means, plus her performance has been ridiculed

Firework again hasn't had any airplay yet, no video, no other promo, etc.

What it does show is that, despite all the moaning some people do on here, you can't get a song to #1 just with The X Factor alone. A hit will be a hit and a flop will be a flop (e.g. Shakira last year)

Cheryl's performance will be the real test as it's the first "proper" (has airplay, video out, other promo e.g. Radio 1 tomorrow) single to be performed on the show

Go Katy Perry :dancing: Needs a video to premier now and it'll stick in top 10 for some time with rise in airplay too. :)

Yaaay for Katy . Also I think Bruno will be about 75k behind Eminem in the best selling of the year.

Oh, poor Joe . Just out of intrest, what number did Leon fall to in his second week :o?

I guess you could be right about that. I don't see how album sales could accelerate during the week with such a weak single. It's just more likely that the album didn't have huge preorders (they started late) so they could continue selling at an almost steady pace during the rest of the week.

I remember Robbie\Jls doing 220+ after 85+ on their first day (with HUGE preorders) but both had strong promo lined up + strong singles. 180k could be a more realistic figure indeed but I feel 200k is not out of the question.

I heard it is "Guilty Pleasures" week - so expect "Saturday Night" or "Shaddup Your Face" from Cher. Or maybe something by the original Cher? :D

Take That will have them off the top on Sunday 28th November, before Duffy arrives the following week

EDIT: - actually Susan Boyle is two weeks before TT so I expect she will get there too

the next 6 weeks are the busiest dates of the year - no way KoL will be no1 for that long, each week will have a new number 1 with big album sales - rem westlife, susan boyle, jls, take that, cheryl cole and all the Ghits to name a few!!

No chance!

you never know singles sell in bucketloads over the next few weeks and then theres the final week when all the years favs sell loads again.

rem the xmas top 2 last year sold near half a million copies each!!
