July 22, 200618 yr I think you will find that most fans love there artist for the music they create, not because of what they wear yeah right... <_< so why do you think pop princesses gyrate in a sexually provocative way whilst being half dressed?... you think they go around like that 24/7?...
July 25, 200618 yr I think you will find that most fans love there artist for the music they create, not because of what they wear Hmmmm, I fail to see where the 'music' is in the likes of the Pussycat Dolls...... -_-
July 26, 200618 yr Hmmmm, I fail to see where the 'music' is in the likes of the Pussycat Dolls...... -_- If you're not a fan, you wont find music. If you are a fan then you will find the music. Take stickwitu for example, from going trashy chavvy song [dontcha wish your...] to a beautiful ballad, stickwitu If it was the case about fans loving someone for there looks then Paris hilton would be as big as madonna
July 27, 200618 yr Still if you agree with Lily's argument about the PCD's videos & their influence, then surely Lily's Smile video encourages mugging, robbery & arson. <_< But as I've said before. You see all of that in cartoons aimed at people who've barely started school. You don't see nudity in them do you. Violence is everywhere pre-watershed. Nudity and girls dressed as sluts are hardly ever shown pre-watershed. And when they are, it's usually a music video!

Nudity and girls dressed as sluts are hardly ever shown pre-watershed. And when they are, it's usually a music video! Didn't really old cartoons show women dressed rather sluttily though? Betty Boo for one, plus most really old Warner Brothers cartoons seemed to have a smutty 'sexy woman' joke amongst them somewhere. That Rescusers film snuck in a poster of a naked woman that passed the censors for gods sake. Most of these sort of cartoons hardly ever get shown nowadays though, posibly mostly because some of the jokes in them are un-PC. A general point- I really don't get why people think sex is more offensive than violence. Violence is tolerated all the time, and sex, something perfectly natural, is regarded as taboo. Strange. Although I can understand protecting children from sex more, if my own adolescense is anything to go by, you have no interest in sex and find it disgusting until you hit puberty and want to try it out because your hormones are going all over the place. Are we supposed to believe music videos somehow kickstart puberty earlier? I wonder if people are going to reply they are 'sure' it does without a shred of medical evidence to back it up. The reason the Pussycat Dolls, Girls Aloud and the others dress slutty and do lads mags is its another way to keep them in the public eye, more ways to raise publicity. Most of the people that buy their records are teenage girls and gay men. Unless the girls are lesbians, why would they be bothered by how the girls are dressed? They wouldn't be attracted to them. I remain unconvinced that if all these music videos had all women dressed as nuns that all the STIs and paedophiles in the world would magically disappear like some people are making out.

(i wont call it 'sexy') slutty way. its eroding values, and anything that encourages children to dress/act in a sexualy available manner is simply wrong. kids will try to emulate their 'heros'. it is no accident that things like underage pregnancies, sti's, sex abuse etc is on the rise when young women dressed in next to nothing, gyrating in a sexually provocative manner are so widely seen on tv/vids.

There's a difference between 'sexy' and using your sex as a tool to empower yourself (ie, Debbie Harry, Siouxsie Sioux, Kim Gordon, Kim Deal, Tairrie B, and the various "Ladies of Heavy Metal"...) and just being slutty and allowing yourself to be objecitfied (ie, Spice Girls, Pussycat Dolls, Paris Hilton, Girls Aloud, etc, etc, ad fukkin; nauseam...)

Well the thing is that people don't wear them any more than they used to  and there's never been any evidence that people have worn them because they want to be like their heroes or even them acting 'slutty' because they DARE to wear something revealing, also this isn't meant to be mean but I've noticed that most people that are victims of 'sex attacks' are never really good looking people anyway. Plus I've noticed a lot of the time it's not people in revealing clothes either.

They just think its the norm, and its always been like that. The problem with most of these "female acts" today is if it wasn't for their sexual image they would not sell many records, on the music content alone.
