yeah the Pussycat Dolls promote prostitution and Lily promotes beating up, drug use, mugging, etc... I know which one is the worse role model. She should look at herself in the mirror first before criticising other people, bitter cow

Does she promote it though? No, she makes people AWARE of it. She no longer takes drugs, she got off them. And hey, atleast 75% of pop stars have taken them anyway. PCD dress in slutty dresses and it sends the message to young girls that they're OK to wear them which is FAR worse!

She was, she no longer takes drugs as she learnt from the bad experiences the first time. She;s not stupid enough to start taking them again.

ooh I never knew. i stand corrected on that point

Right now I'm peeded off with Lily Allen because I spent £8.97 on a dud of an album by her.

Q Magazine - "Soundtrack to the summer." My ass. No wonder Q Magazine is going down the pan!

Of course she does. Video rotation is promoting it, and she seems fine with it. Its ok to wear slutty dresses, not ok to beat people up and mug them.

As Rabbitfurcoat said, Lily never claimed to be a 'better' role-model, or any kind of role-model at all, she was criticising this pathetic meeeedjaaaaaaaaaaaaa worship of Victoria bloody Beckham and all these other fukkin' Footballer's WAGs. And pointing out the discrepancies that certain TV stations have in what videos they choose to air....

I agree with her 100%, it is hypocrisy....

And I credit her in being at least honest about her past and not trying to hide behind some fukkin' publicist....

No it isn't. Encouraging young girls to dress like slags is the lowest you can get. It promotes the growing amount of teenage pregnancy, the vastly growing amount of STIs and rape!

The soundtrack to the summer is We Are The Pipettes, most certainly!

Right, and is that some kind of scientific fact? Rapists attack any girl whether with skirts or jeans doesnt really matter to them. By having a sexier image you're not really attacking anyone, girls can have a sexy image but still have safe sex too, image doesnt affect intelligence. Now by beating people up you're certainly causing more harm.

What I define as 100% hypocrisy is going to Public School & having a famous mum & dad then making a bad album (with only three good tracks on it) while singing in a fake mockney voice with street like lyrics. The Pulp/Jarvis Cocker classic "Common People" springs to mind.

Still I hope she enjoyed watching the Test Cricket with her Dad on Sunday!

Did I say I actually liked her music? No, I believe I said 'Cant stand her music'; and I made more or less exactly the same criticisms of her singing style you just did on this very Forum about a fortnight ago mate, do keep up..... But I likened her more to Tricky's collaborator Martina Topley Bird, a wee bit more appropriate I feel seeing as they're both female....

I just happen to agree with her on one or two issues is all, I aint gonna be a hypocrite and say she's talking a load of sh!t just cos I dont like her music...

That's certainly true, but PCD are marketing themselves at pre-teen girls, who dont really know any better and dont have any real life-experience, and personally I think that there's something incredibly distasteful about that....

Did I actually criticise your post that you posted earlier?

Answer: No I did not.

I bought the album because I really liked LDN, I quite like Smile & I heard a 3rd track Littlest Things which I really like. Along with the good reviews for the album I concluded that it must be worth buying. How wrong I am.

As for your point about her criticising PCD & Victoria Beckham - I actually agree with the points she makes. Unlike her earlier criticism of Kylie which was bang out of order. But the way she is going, a true eloquent legend who can back it up like Morrissey, John Lydon or a Jarvis Cocker with see her in their radar & tear her apart.

I agree with her about both artists. I don't like 'Smile' at all though. So I hate her song but I dislike most of the same people. That's somewhere in the middle.

I don't think she should talk about Kylie though. Not only is a Kylie an interesting artist (who got dropped for trying something less commercial) but she's a much bigger star than Lily and not the sort to slag people off in interviews. So leave it.

I'm not saying they arent, but surely there's more to it than just to wear short skirts and wearing make up. Its all about attitude, you can be sexy but still be respected, just dont act like a whore. But then dissing them doesnt make Lily's attitude any more correct, she needs to put herself together including the videos she's putting out there to girls encouraging them to act on revenge.
