October 28, 201015 yr Oh yeah obviously forgot about that as well! But maybe leaving out the christmas battles & X Factor related acts, it must be up there! Well if you're leaving out the X Factor related tracks, then it's not really going to count then, is it?
October 28, 201015 yr Well if you're leaving out the X Factor related tracks, then it's not really going to count then, is it?  I guess not, and this was for charity too! But for the time of month it was released huge sales too right, massive! Lets just call it a rare occurance! Edited October 28, 201015 yr by Breakeven
October 28, 201015 yr Tuesday 1 Cheryl Cole 68k 2 Rihanna 51k Difference: 17,000 Wednesday 1 Cheryl Cole 92.8k (24,800 sales) 2 Rihanna 68.2k (17,200) Difference: 24,600 Thursday 1 Cheryl Cole 109.3k (16,500 sales) 2 Rihanna 82.4k (14,200 sales) Difference: 26,900
October 28, 201015 yr Rihanna's sales consistency is better than that of Cheryl's, as on Thursday, Rihanna only sold 3k less than she had done on Wednesday, compared to Cheryl who sold 8.3k less than she had on Wednesday. That said, the sales gap is still getting big, and I highly doubt that Rihanna will be able to overtake by Sunday.
October 28, 201015 yr Breakeven, the #1 has sold over 1,000,000 on three occasions - Elton John did it two weeks in a row back in 1997 and Will Young's Evergreen also sold a million in its first week
October 28, 201015 yr Tuesday 1 Cheryl Cole 68k 2 Rihanna 51k Difference: 17,000 Wednesday 1 Cheryl Cole 92.8k (24,800 sales) 2 Rihanna 68.2k (17,200) Difference: 24,600 Cheryl had sold more than that on Tuesday, it needs to be combined with a second version which was showing up as #27 :P
October 28, 201015 yr Cheryl had sold more than that on Tuesday, it needs to be combined with a second version which was showing up as #27 :P It was roughly another 3k's worth of sales.
October 28, 201015 yr Tuesday 1 Cheryl Cole 68k 2 Rihanna 51k Difference: 17,000 Wednesday 1 Cheryl Cole 92.8k (24,800 sales) 2 Rihanna 68.2k (17,200) Difference: 24,600 Thursday 1 Cheryl Cole 109.3k (16,500 sales) 2 Rihanna 82.4k (14,200 sales) Difference: 26,900 :yahoo: Cheryl to sell 120k and Rihanna for 100k!
October 28, 201015 yr He does tend to have these surprise hits on the back of little promotion. That awful Behind Closed Doors that didn't even sound like it was him singing it went top 5 last year and I'd honestly never heard it beforehand! Of all of the mid 90's manufactured pop acts, the one I would have least expected to still be having hits two decades later would be Peter Andre  Apparently he's signing CD's/books in my old workplace on Saturday, I'm so devestated that I won't get to see it! They've tons of his single at £1 each in ours!!
October 28, 201015 yr It was roughly another 3k's worth of sales. 4.4k, Jay posted the sales for #27 on Tuesday somewhere in this thread.
October 28, 201015 yr 4.4k, Jay posted the sales for #27 on Tuesday somewhere in this thread. Oh right, thanks for that! ^_^
October 28, 201015 yr 1 Cheryl Cole 68k 2 Rihanna 51k 1 Cheryl Cole 92.8k 2 Rihanna 68.2k 1 Cheryl Cole 109.3k 2 Rihanna 82.4k So judging from the first three sets of midweeks, Cheryl Cole has actually pulled ahead each day - probably the physical sales giving the biggest boost for the last two updates. Still, Rihanna to have sold 82k up until last night is fantastic - Cheryl Cole to finish the week on roughly 160k with Rihanna selling 110k.
October 28, 201015 yr 17k in a day....the last 3 days = 90k (30k a day)....sales are dropping, still great sales. 109k is fantastic.
October 28, 201015 yr I wonder if there's any small chance both of the top 2 could outsell California Gurls' first week? It's another 41k for Rihanna so probably not... but it could happen if Rihanna gets a significant boost from somewhere If Rihanna sells an average of ~14k per day for the last 3 days she can make it, so it's quite tight but she could just about do it actually :o Edited October 28, 201015 yr by ~ braysammich ~
October 28, 201015 yr I'd say its gonna be more like 150k for Cheryl and 120k for Rihanna. Its getting closer and close on itunes so i would expect Rihanna to pass Cheryl before thsi weeks sales end and then to shoot ahead after her x factor performance
