 Fair enough.

By the way on the whole I LOVE the album. Sorry if I gave the impression that I don't, it just seems like they didn't have enough confidence in their own team to make a song that could be successful worldwide. It's weird how The Boys (song) sounds more dated than anything else on the album, it sounds like it would have been #1 in America in 2003.

The thing with The Boys is..... the song itself lacks a good chorus, I didn't mind the rapping parts but there's no catchy hook in it at all which disappointed me :(

Yeah that's it exactly. I think Teddy tried to recreate Rule The World (Girls) and failed. The production is fairly strong overall, and I do like the video, it's just that it's a 9.5/10 rather than a 10/10.
It's a 9/10 for me, but I'm pretty certain it will still go #1 on my personal chart. Even if the girls did some stupid noise as a song, I will eat it up and put it #1 :kink:

I know what you mean  It's going to debut in my top 3 this week, but I'm not sure how long it will stick around...

I do hope SM Ent their company learns that in general it's not as good as their previous releases. I don't think it will last long in my chart as well... sadly..

They 100% will do a repackage album so lets hope the repackaged lead title song is very catchy and has a hook

Really enjoying both their 2011 Japanese record and 'The Boys' Korean record. Excellent, excellent.

WOW, never thought you'd be a k-pop fan :o Girls Generation (Jap album) >>>>> The Boys tbh.

I LOVE everything I've heard thus far. Girls' Generation are so ahead of their time (from a western perspective). You can see that this is the genre that will influence our pop landscape over the next few years. 'Watch n' Learn' off of Rihanna's new record is essentially a k-pop song with English lyrics.

'Mr Taxi' and 'Gee' are two of my favourite pop songs of the year with ease. Excellence.

Cool. Honestly I would avoid the first two Korean albums, they are a bit MOR honestly, a lot of the tracks are like Spice Girls B-sides. But they really kicked it up a gear with the Japanese debut and the last Korean era. I totally know what you mean, I don't know if any of the acts will ever have worldwide success (2NE1 look the most likely at the moment, having just won the MTV Iggy award for the best new band in the world) but the writers and producers will (a lot of them are Scandinavian anyway).

Replace Gee with Bad Girl and I agree totally. I think the k-pop bug is beginning to spread :D

A weird SNSD unreleased track, Boomerang, has hit online

------------

It's supposed to be a track that they were to release but Gee got picked instead (thank god..).

It's not bad but a bit meh for me...

As for SNSD's first two korean albums, most K-Pop album tracks are fillers. Their Japanese debut album was pure quality pop though.

Oh I really like that :o (SQUEEEE at Jeti's "stereotypicaaaaaal"). But Gee is more catchy. I still think it could be a good song for an album repackage (which is rumoured for December now). Oh and the maxi single will apparently be out on 29th November now :)

It's true that in general Korean albums are full of fillers but I could say that of western boy/girl groups too  I would say The Boys is definitely their best Korean album, but yeah I think the Japanese album does beat it overall.

I hope the maxi single will be out soon, I'll be at HMV ready to get it if it is :D

And for a lead track of The Bous album repackage, I expect a much catchier track from them for some reason :P

I still don't know if it will be released here, at least physically, I expect it will be released physically though since for some reason we didn't get the album on iTunes.

Yes I know what you mean, but this really fits their new mature image, I'm surprised they didn't put it on the album already...

I don't think they will do a cute song anymore because they're all grown up :(
