December 15, 201014 yr Will be very interested to see Leona's sales in the UK without X Factor promo. Both Spirit & Echo were heavily promoted on the show. Echo was rarely in the top 40 in 2010 once the show was over, despite her Arena tour. Adding other talent show contestants & the top 10 UK sales would most likely be, although G4 could possibly figure in there. Order will be slightly different with international sales but they are more difficult to verify & only really Leona has promoted extensively abroad. 1. Leona Spirit 2. Will Young Friday's Child 3. JLS JLS 4. Will Young Keep On 5. Will Young From Now On. 6. Alexandra Burke Overcome 7. Leona Echo 8. Shayne Ward debut 9. Gareth Gates debut 10. Will Young The Hits What a silly thing to say! I mean, so many artists have benefitted from having 2 performances on the x factor from tracks on the same album such as JLS, Alexandra, Rihanna, Take That etc. Why do you single out Leona all the time? Of course she is going to promote her albums, it is not her fault that she is able to get slots on the X Factor (the most watched TV in the UK) Oh and Gareth Gates' album would be higher. G4's first album would also be up there! Edited December 15, 201014 yr by Crowan
December 15, 201014 yr Author I actually forgot about G4 - such a long time ago - and I used to get their albums for my nan at christmas! According to Wikipedia, their first album went double platinum, though the MusicWeek reported on Monday that Alexandra Burke has the 3rd highest selling X Factor album, behind JLS and Leona. I'd love to know where G4 slot into! Also, if anyone has any single sales for G4, I'll gladly add them :) Oh and by the way - if you're gonna add in Pop Idol, why not Girls Aloud as well - there are at least 2 albums that would be high in that list - and Cheryl Cole's debut. - This is why I thought best to keep it to X Factor so it doesn't get overtly complicated Edited December 15, 201014 yr by Knightr634

Matt's figure will be posted just before 7pm. If you know it, please don't post it until then so as not to spoil the charts for the other users. Thanks.

December 21, 201014 yr Hallelujah must have passed 1,200,000 by now? Edited December 21, 201014 yr by X gunners X
December 21, 201014 yr What a silly thing to say! Hit the nail on the head. Just ridiculous, every one of those albums have had promotion, every album that is a success has promotion, why the hell wouldnt you promote an album, and X Factor is one way to promote an album or single. Someone is just a little sad Will Young isnt up there at the top  Even non-related X Factor acts, Robbie Williams, Rihanna, Take That to name a few, all performed twice in one series before (three with Robbie and Rihanna cases including duets). X Factor have loads of artists on and sometimes they make #1, look at BEP they made #1 due to X Factor twice already in singles chart! Would be interesting to see Cheryl's success without X Factor too, could say it about all artists who appear on X Factor. Which artist in the right mind would say No to performing on X Factor? 3million sales of Spirit was not due to X Factor. So pathetic to think it was. An X Factor performance doesnt guarantee success look at The Silence, My Wicked Heart, Hollywood, Ambitions. You need to 1. Have the fanbase. 2. Have the right song. 3. Have a stand-out brilliant performance. 4. Depends on the actual artist. JLS and Alexandra performed twice last year, both performed this year too. Both heavily promoted by X Factor, ofcourse X Factor will promote their artists. LOL Hasnt Will Young performed on X Factor? I wonder how he sold over 1million of his single...Pop Idol maybe? Which used to be basically The X Factor. Double Standards and Hypocrisy at its best with 'Truly Talented' Edited December 21, 201014 yr by Let it Snow
December 21, 201014 yr Author Hallelujah must have passed 1,200,000 by now? It probably has - but unless there is an official figure given - then I won't update it
December 26, 201014 yr 01. Alexandra Burke - Halleujah - 1,195,000 02. Shayne Ward - That's My Goal - 1,095,000 03. Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love - 1,000,534 04. Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This - 875,000 05. X Factor Finalists 2008 - Hero - 810,000 06. Joe McElderry - The Climb - 790,000 07. Matt Cardle - When We Collide - 739,003 08. Alexandra Burke - Bad Boys - 701,500 09. Leona Lewis - Run - 655,000 10. JLS - Beat Again - 515,000
December 26, 201014 yr Hopefully Matt will sell 100k+ and feature in the Top 5 next week - One of the best XF winners ever IMO
December 27, 201014 yr I can see Matt selling around 120k this week so getting that #5 place but I wouldn't be suprised if due to the boxing day sales, he sells 150k or more due to the shops being fuller so could even go over 'A Moment Like This' next week. Edited December 27, 201014 yr by Davidson
