Be thankful it didn't turn out to be 'Gaypork' or 'Jayporn'

I wonder if Phil would actually give Rich the 18 points if he didn't know which song it was that he'd sent...
I think we will find out next time :w00t:

Has Pavel EVER sent a Russian artist? Just sayin'...

Yes. My first two artists entered were Russian, one of these finished last and the other - first :kink: Plus Sergey Lazarev, my 5th entry to BJSC.

I guessed yours was t.A.T.u because it was in your personal chart lol.

The majority of members would have voted by Friday, so I wasn't that bothered including it in my personal chart in the end.

I would have figured, apart from the fact that you charted it seperately from your BJSC entry? And you were hyping it up like hell the other day (though that could have been Tyron )

Nope, I never did :o It was always hidden at #2!

That was Tyron and Jonjo I think - I really wanted to comment back but obviously I couldn't say too much without giving it away. Even if I'd said 'oh I agree it's great' or something, people could see that it wasn't in my personal chart (well, not visibly) and put 2 and 2 together.

It's nice to enter somebody from a completely different country for once (New Zealand - yes I know I almost entered The Naked & Famous last month :P) - I was adamant that I wasn't sending Scandipop again this time.

Same Tom, it will be interesting to see what happens next month :heehee:

Are we sticking with this horrid format then? :(

Why is it so horrid?

Why is it so horrid?

It completely sucks the whole social aspect out of the competition. There's been almost no chatting this time round as no one can talk about their entries and I think that's a big loss considering we don't really gain anything by not knowing who sent what song. I don't understand what the new format achieves...

Tom has a point tbh. I still gave big points to same people, even without knowing which songs they sent :heehee:

People can talk about their entries, they just can't say that it's theirs! If anything it focuses it entirely on the music rather than over who sent what - and it once and for all destroys the criticism that who sent what determines where it will finish, which has been seen as a big criticism of the contest - not necessarily from people within the contest, but from those who've left or are put off joining up because of it. The hope is that over time more people will join up - and, in any case, discussion levels have been pretty much identical to those during the last contest - more reflective on how little interest there was left in the old format I think!

That may be because they all sent the same type of song which you tend to vote for :P

But people haven't been talking about their or anyone's entries... I'm always a little wary of making changes on what people who are no longer in the contest say. I'd rather focus on the interests of the people who are actually active and particpating now.

OOI are we gonna geta vote on which format we prefer? It would be interesting to see what everyone thinks :)

That may be because they all sent the same type of song which you tend to vote for :P

Well yeah, but my point is still intact.

Anyway, I don't care if the anonymity stays or we get back to the old system. The lack of anonymity does bring us extra pre-confirmation speculation in national threads, but with the undisclosure policy activity indeed decreased. Maybe that is only due to the break hence people having to again get used to checking the forum more than two times a month?

I still am going to vote only for the song whichever format it is.

We're understandably incredibly wary of putting things like this to votes anymore (part of the reason we think the contest really went massively downhill was because we started getting incessant votes that were fiercely divided and ended up getting more focus than the contest itself), but given only one or two people seem to massively disapprove against the loads who seem to quite like the change, I'm not sure if there's much need unless we get a huge burst of people changing their minds during the results. In any case, you're more than free to discuss the entries during the next contest! I think a lot of the contest was really quiet as a lot of people weren't quite sure what they were and weren't allowed to post - so I'll say this as a general thing to everyone. You can post whatever you like, just as long as you don't reveal what you sent.

(Obviously I'm under no illusions that posting was likely to be quite low anyway given most participants just returned to university )

I don't massively disapprove, I just thought I would air my thoughts. I agree there were far too many crisis polls a few months ago which I feel did more damage than good. I can't say I've seen any huge endorsements of this format, it would be nice to get some more opinions.
We'll open a 'thoughts?' thread probably - if there's MASSIVE disapproval then we'll probably give it another try and then see where we go from there if there's still no approval after the second contest.

To be fair what kind of talk about each others songs actually goes on anyway when it's not anonymous, something like:

"*insert song name/country here*" or "I know who I'm giving my 12 points to :kink:"

Is the majority of what I see people posting really...I didn't see the difference in this contest than the last one I was in.

Well I haven't really opinionated on this format before, but I think I prefer knowing who is sending what. There was no hype even after a couple of months break, we couldn't talk or give our opinion on other songs in people's national threads, or ask for their opinions about ours, on what they think we should send amongst several choices, anything to create a discussion. I wasn't even excited to vote this time around, it was just a "whatever" for me.
Only song I would have guessed right.

Besides Greenfroze but that was only because of NSC.

Yeah, I instantly regretted sending that song in both contests :drama: but it's not like I'm the only one who can find certain songs out there, including that one.. and seeing you were the only one in my semi in there from BJSC, I figured I was safe :P

Happy nobody guessed Dalisska's entry correct, it's nice to be a bit unpredictable. :)

Kimbra

I entered her in NSC too (with Miami Horror) but she flopped. :(

I noticed that, and I actually considered Kimbra as your entry. But as always you tend to be unpredictable, so your entry could've been a handful of the other songs as well..

Only Freeze guessed Espen correctly. :heehee:

:heehee:

And proud of it! :D

No one guessed that I sent Anne G with Blah Blah :P
