I still think Take That have a chance of getting to Number 1 next week if they don't get there this week

I can't see it at all. JLS are going to be absolutely huge and that's without even mentioning Like A G6 which could easily sell 100k! TT will get a boost after X Factor and then after CIN, which will probably keep them top 3 whilst Rihanna drops 1-4 (if she does indeed stay at #1 this week), but I can't see them at #1 next week at all :( Poor Westlife will have to settle for #5 or lower :cheer:

Interesting bit from Music Week re the US charts which confirms what we all knew (but nice to have official confirmation):-

But Swift didn’t have it all her own way: after debuting last week at number 11, Mean (not to be confused with Mine, mentioned above) falls off the list altogether. It’s a consequence of iTunes’ ‘complete my album’ facility. Any punters who previously purchased Mean and went back for the rest of the album effectively bought the album in its entirety and returned Mean, resulting in negative sales for the track. Its number 11 debut and peak and immediate disappearance from the chart match A Little Bit Longer, the title track of a Jonas Brothers album which did exactly the same thing in 2008.

either take that are falling or rihanna is definitely rising.. who would have thought

Take That are falling. Their pre-orders that allowed them to debut at #13 are now "lost" from their pop bar, so they're falling. They'll stabilise shortly though, but their chance of #1 is gone now.

Rihanna is also on Graham Norton on Friday I think. Small promotion, but still should help secure the #1.

Pink is definitely going to knock Mike P out of the iTunes top 10.

Hopefully that means she can bag a top 10 on the official chart, but she's going to need to get approx #5 on iTunes based on those pop bars (i.e. a 25%-30% lead on Mike P) to knock him/Alexis out.

I am so tired of "Make you feel my love"...
I agree, it's a nice enough song and good for her that it went top 5 but it seems to be turning into the new Don't Stop Believin'. Radio have picked it up and are hammering it, and it will probably stay top 75 for ages now. Good for ADELE as it will give her second album a nice launchpad (she might as well add it as a bonus track ), but there's only so many times I can hear the song before wanting to smash something :drama:
Adele needs to p*** off, seriously.

Agreed, why do people act that that song is the greatest piece of music ever written? It's a throwaway album track from an artist who is basically burnt out (Dylan).

What is a contender for greatest song ever is The Last Time Ever I Saw Your Face... Glad it looks like going top 30 on this week's official chart...

I'm really pleased for Adele. I remember feeling sorry for her when Duffy had more success with her debut (as Adele won the sound of 2008 (?)).

Glad she's doing really well, I'm pretty sure she'll do better than Duffy with her 2nd album now (especially considering how AWFUL 'Well Well Well' is).

I agree with you, even without the Xmas boost.

You're probably right, but I like Well Well Well a lot, it's cool cos it mixes her old sound with a new sample based sound. I expect Addele to have dumped the soul stuff completely on the next album and it will either be mellow indie or electropop...

I wouldn't be surprised if it's more in the way of either Cold Shoulder (quite quirky and dancy) or Make You Feel My Love (piano ballads). She definitely won't do soul, but then she wasn't really as 'so 2008' as Duffy was anyway, 19 has certainly stood the test of time better than Rockferry, even if the latter was made to sound like it was produced in 1967

It's strange because at the time I far preferred Duffy but I can't listen to anything apart from Warwick Avenue now as they feel so out of date already, like all of Mika's music, and I'm just sick to death of the 'sound'. Adele on the other hand was a bit more timless, certainly all 4 of the singles from 19 I can listen to and enjoy now, and all had a completely different sound, even if I felt that the album was weaker overall than Rockferry.

didnt notice MCR up to 25 :D thats pretty good, would be amazing if it went top 20

gutted for Take That :snif: they definitely wont last at number 1 on the mids, if only their performance on XF was this week :(
