You do realize that TT's last studio album sold over 420K first week and Robbie's last studio album sold near 240,000 first week? Quite how you come to the conclusion that with both fanbases combined it will end up selling significantly less than both separately is beyond me. Perhaps you are confused and are actually predicting the end of year sales for Westlife's new album with that 200K figure?

And before someone mentions the single underperforming - both Robbie and TT are album sellers first and foremost and both have a long history of selling by the truck load first week and beyond with albums.

Sales of previous albums may only be an indicator but they don't determine sales of future releases in a direct way. Look at Susan Boyle or James Blunt to mention a few from the current chart climate.

Oh sorry i thought it sold only 121,689. . . . :naughty:

I said STUDIO album Charis (ie. Reality Killed The Video Star). TT's last album was their live album which btw sold more than Westlife's studio album last year - and Robbie's last album was his GH album - his 9th #1 - and the third fastest seller of the year. It's amazing that a second GH collection would sell more than big studio releases from everyone else this year (KOL and Eminem aside) especially the likes of Cheryl, Kylie and Susan Boyle.

And on the subject of fastest selling album Charis - Robbie has six albums in the top 35 fastest sellers in history in the UK - twice as many as his nearest rivals Oasis and Coldplay who have three a piece. What do you predict for Westlife's first sales? Will they sell half of what JLS will sell do you think?

While true usually - for very established album acts such as Robbie and TT - who have consistently brilliant first week sales I think past sales are very relevant.

And btw Amazon has announced that the demand for 'Progress' is more than any previous album by TT or by Robbie. So 200K prediction is rather silly.

lol what a chance. . . Around 200k at best. . . =) mark me. . .

you are living in a dream world, they hit 200k after 2 days with the circus

Based on the quality of the record itself I'm hoping it breaks oasis' all time fastest album seller record, was that about 750,000?

Half a million is maybe more realistic in the current climate.

I'd say between 300-350k but I wouldn't be completely shocked if sold more than X&Y (2nd fastest-selling album)...

Oh, and overall sales... I dunno. Too many variables like performance of subsequent singles etc.

330k this week, ~1.1 Million for the year, and around 1.5 Million lifetime.

I'd say 450-550K first week (they can do even more than that)! 1 million after 3 weeks (or 4 maximum) and 2 millions by the end of the year (by March max).

I am actually curious if anyone will manage to knock them down from the no1 spot. Looks like there are more powerful singles coming...

There are rumors in the industry that first week sales in the UK could be about 750k for the album. Pre-orders seem to be very very high........

Interesting - 150K first day is the industry prediction and it sounds about right. 400-500K for the first week is obvious - so I am sticking with my 450K prediction. :D

The Circus sold 133K first day so 150K+ would see them beat the total weeks sales that got of 430K.

150k could also be HMV first day sales around the UK and Ireland......

It looks like 150 first day sales is HMV alone :w00t:

If that's correct they are going to beat Oasis record.........

294,000

Aren't there many other threads on this subject already all over this forum?

Yes, there are.

I can't see it beating Oasis's record. Oasis sold nearly 700,000 copies in 3 days only(was released on a thursday) - a total of 820,000 for 7 days - although it's 3 day tally is technically the only one that counts.

If TT sell 150K in HMV alone in the UK and Ireland - then it means it will sell over 200K first day in the UK alone (which would shock Charis who thinks it will onyl sell this in the entire week :P ) with other retail sales + online sales. Amazon said pre-order sales exceed those of The Circus or any Robbie album (despite IC selling 375K first week and 130K first day). The sales are going in be ridiculously high either way.

Given the 150k HMV info I predict:

today: 180k -> First day of release sales Record (beating Susan Boyle's previous record) :w00t:

1st week: 600k (Though I'd love them to sell 1M  )

total: 2.5M
