December 6, 201014 yr James Blake Jessie J Clare Maguire The Naked & Famous Nero Only one's I'd heard of beforehand. Really shocked at the lack of Florrie and Sky in particular, I'm rather dissapointed aswell since this was the first year where I though I'd already have heard of close to everyone on the list. Not sure why I didnt think of Naked & The Famous come to think of it...
December 6, 201014 yr Anna Calvi Clare Maguire Daley Esben & The Witch Jai Paul James Blake Jamie Woon Jessie J Mona Nero The Naked & Famous The Vaccines Warpaint Wretch 32 Yuck Yuck? some of these names are odd  I've only heard of Jessie J and James Blake, and I havent liked either of their songs thus far :( hopefully there will be some gems in here :D Edited December 6, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 6, 201014 yr I've heard music by an astonishing TEN of these: *If you count Doncamatic Clare Maguire Daley* James Blake    Jamie Woon  Jessie J Nero  The Naked & Famous Warpaint  Wretch 32 Yuck Of the other 5 I've heard of The Vaccines, but the other 4 are all totally new to me. Of this list, Jessie J has already had a #25 hit, Daley's had a #37 (as a featured artist), James Blake's had a #47, Jamie Woon's had a #67 and Clare Maguire's had a #78. Clare will obviously win but I'm hoping James Blake does, or Jamie Woon/Nero/Warpaint. Looking forward to seeing how these acts chart compared to the previous years - the 2009 list had 14/15 acts have top 100 singles or albums (only exception being Dan Black), while the 2010 list had 13 (missing out Gold Panda and Joy Orbison)
December 6, 201014 yr An absolute SHOCKER of a list: James Blake Anna Calvi Daley Esben & the Witch Jessie J Clare Maguire Mona The Naked & Famous Nero Jai Paul The Vaccines Warpaint Jamie Woon Wretch 32 Yuck (LINK) Does Buzzjack have a tumbleweed smilie? :D ** tries ** :tumbleweed: <--- edit; shameful  From the list, I've heard of: James Blake - I sort of like his new track 'Limit To Your Love' even if it is very minimal with a disturbing bassline pulsating in chunks. Vocally, he sounds a bit like Aiden from The X Factor which isn't a good thing (imo) but nonetheless I'll be interested in seeing how he fares in 2011. Daley - Only discovered Daley thanks to Gorillaz great track 'Doncamatic (All Played Out)'. Could be a successful act but will need some excellent tracks to help him stand out of the crowd. He seems like a quirky character if the Gorillaz video is anything to go off. Jessie J - I shall reserve judgement. Heard 'Do It Like A Dude' and was more than underwhelmed. Hopefully if Jessie J really is going to be the next big thing, she has the hits the back it up. Clare Maguire - 'Ain't Nobody' was an interesting track - not the best track I've heard all year but there was something unique about the track. I agree with Tyron that Clare seems more like an albums act rather than a successful singles act. In the digital age of cherry picking that's probably not a good thing either. Clare having an album go 01-34 is not impressive. The Naked & Famous - Already know 'Young Blood' thanks to Unknown Pleasures. It's alright and I wouldn't be surprised if the track was to be reissued at some point in 2011. It won't change my opinion of the song; great verses let down by a lacklustre chorus "yeah yeah yeah yeah". Pleasant!!! :) Wretch 32 - Tinie Tempah (Pt II) Broken Down
December 6, 201014 yr Wretch 32's inclusion does seem a bit 'token grime artist'... But anyway, Yraktor will be a big hit I think, but I'm not sure Wretch has the potential to be anywhere near as big as Tinie
December 7, 201014 yr Warpaint are good, they sound like The XX with a hint of Au Revoir Simone. Apart from them i'm not really that fussed.
December 7, 201014 yr James Blake Jessie J Clare Maguire The Naked & Famous Nero The Vaccines Yuck Know like only these. What an AWFUL list :(
December 7, 201014 yr So glad that Clare Maguire is on here  Saw her live a few weeks back, she totally deserves it, and I'm 99% sure the next single The Last Dance will go top 10. CdKEJeNXiFg The rest are all unknown to me or awful though. Where's Saint Saviour? :(
December 7, 201014 yr Jessie J - I shall reserve judgement. Heard 'Do It Like A Dude' and was more than underwhelmed. Hopefully if Jessie J really is going to be the next big thing, she has the hits the back it up. 'Do It Like A Dude' is atrocious, but this next single more than shows her potential. S849lrkmuRc
December 7, 201014 yr I had a listen. Last years list you could easily pick some hits from, this year it's... tricky. They seem to have gone for at least 2 bands that just sound like The Drums, which didn't even work for The Drums that well so why anyone else would want to do it is beyond me. The Vaccines were about the only ones I can imagine breaking through. Last year's list introduced me to what is now one of my favorite bands and my album of the year - Everything Everything and Man Alive.
January 3, 201114 yr Clare Maguire FIFTH?! I thought she was a shoo-in for the top three but there we go... So, top three of Jessie J, Naked + Famous and James Blake? Possibly Daley or Wretch 32 in there...
January 3, 201114 yr Is the top 4 are not Jessie J, James Blake, Wretch 32 and some bizarre one like Esben & The Witch or Mona I will bite someone's face off.
January 3, 201114 yr There's surely no way The Naked and Famous aren't still to come? I suppose it could be them instead of the bizarre act, but I reckon they'll come 4th if anything. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though, they deserve 2nd behind James Blake based on the music.
