Posted November 27, 201014 yr OK so we all kinda keep saying "they should have done this" or "they shouldn't do that!" so, i thought why dont you all give your verdicts on what you think and want to happen in 2011.... I WANT A third single to be released - 'Here Standing' - in January, and then the girls to almost vanish off the radar for about 2 months, then have them crop up in the papers around May, Then in June release a new single to lead the next album but NOT the album. Then release a 2nd single towards the end of September, with the album a week later. I doubt they could get an XF slot but, if they could then maybe delay it until the first live show week. I THINK They will release a single and album in September and it just will be like history repeating itself. They will get a #22 with the third single from Headlines, and then the lead single from ALBUM4 will be #1 in the midweeks all week then chart at #2. :(
November 27, 201014 yr They finally get a #1, leading to Rochelle's ego becoming so huge she actually explodes taking the majority of Northern Europe with her. THE END. Or you know, realistically I dont think we need a third single from Headlines though 'Here Standing' could work for a Winter release as long as they dont mind charting at #19 or whatever. The new single for August, another album for September and such. A years gap between albums seems a pleasant enough gap because they surely cant throw another one out too early considering there was only 10 months between Wordshaker and Headlines. Anyway, back to Aled's fantasy world. Una will become ever closer to being nuNadine, Vanessa will demand only she be allowed to sing from this point onwards, Frankie will split from Dougie 89 times per month, Rochelle will slag everything off all over again, Mollie will....also be there....possibly.
November 27, 201014 yr Good Lord, I really hope they DO release a 3rd single from Headlines, probably Died In Your Eyes would be the best bet, I don't think it'll do spectacularly, nothing will, if Higher only scraped top 10. Probably top 15, Here Standing might not fare quite as well, as it's already on 2 different albums and as much as I adore the girls, I am NOT buying it a 3rd time. Then they should bugger off, release a new single in july/august, release the album end of august, 2nd single end of september, get the 3rd single out there on tv/radio before xmas to help push the album and release it in early january. I don't see them ever selling albums properly anyway, so releasing it in q4 isn't really going to be a good idea, unless they have a hanful of surefire hits on there. Plus this strategy worked better for Headlines than the Wordshaker strategy. Of course whatever the lead single is, it'll be midweek #1 and end up #4 or something, probably because it won't be that good, just like all 3 of their previous lead singles.
November 27, 201014 yr I honestly don't want a third single if it's going to be Died In Your Eyes. It HAS to be Here Standing. That song is total glory and perfect for winter and if January is slow enough it could easily make the top 10. Otherwise first single in July, second/lead single and album in October. I want the next campaign to run for more than six months without stopping and starting, confusion over single choices, constant re-issues etc. I want it to feel like a proper campaign. If it's another Wordshaker style mess they won't get to album four (or five depending on how you view Headlines).
November 27, 201014 yr I want them to do another single from Headlines, don't care what it is, the remaining tracks are all filler quality. Want them to do 2 singles before the next albums release. Want them to get an xfactor slot too. I know there's no 3rd single from Headlines, I think they'll do 1 single and expect huge sales, and it will go horribly wrong.
November 27, 201014 yr Author Aaaah everybody is not so loving tonight! Oooh... i thought of one more.. I would like their October/November single to be the official CIN song :)
November 27, 201014 yr Aaaah everybody is not so loving tonight! Oooh... i thought of one more.. I would like their October/November single to be the official CIN song :) Don't CIN and Comic Relief take turns each year? Or is that my imagination :?
November 28, 201014 yr I sold Original version of Headlines £10 on ebay, from this money i went and bought a new edition from Hmv :) I think that helps! i also bought Pixie Lott - Turn It Up Louder - 22songs for £6.99 Expect Higher to drop around #28 on Charts next week :( Currently #25 on itunes ... Willow, Nicole, Michael will overtake them and another 2 or 3 will.. i just hope Radiohead fall down.. massive drop for Higher guranteed though.
November 28, 201014 yr I hope they get a go in America Imagine the album #Up #Ego #Higher Feat Flo Rida #Work #Issues #If This Is Love or Chasing Lights #Forever is Over or One Shot and another couple of ones :)
November 28, 201014 yr I'll go one better and give a two year plan! 'Headlines' [3rd Album Era] January 2011: 3rd Single - 'Here Standing'. TBA [4th Album Era] Late June 2011: 1st Single. Mid September 2011: 2nd Single. Mid November 2011: 3rd Single - Children In Need single. [[Late November 2011: Album (Original Version)]] Early February 2012: 4th Single. Early May 2012: 5th Single - Brand new song in support of their 2012 tour, not available on original version of the album. [[Mid May 2012: Album Re-Release (Tour Edition)]] ---- I do think they should release more singles in advance of the next album - just to give the public more of an idea of what they'd be buying. My 4th album plan is essentially identical to Girls Aloud's 'What Will The Neighbours Say?', just with an additional single and re-release of the album. I'd love them to have an album that lasted one year again, like Chasing Lights. After that fourth album they'd have 15 singles - so in late 2012 I'd have them release their Greatest Hits, which would be 16 singles strong, including the track that promoted it. Would also release a Music DVD and Blu-Ray, that included all 16 music videos, and the 2012 tour I alluded to above. Remember, it's only what I'd want to do, not necessarily being realistic.

November 28, 201014 yr Okay I want them to: Release Here Standing in Late Jan/Early Feb in a nice quiet week with loads of promotion! Then, take a break for a few months, disappear off the radar. Then, come back in Jun/July time, with a new single (I was thinking something like Ke$ha's YLIMD. Thn come back in Sept/Oct time with a real dancefloor smasher (Like Nicole S 'Poision?) and then promote like mad, it goes to number one(with XF slot) and Album then. And i mean a brilliant album. Like, they have new fans, so a new sound will get evn more - I hope 2011 IS the year of The Sats!! I think they will pretty much do the same what they done with Headlines! and Wordshaker. Come back after quite a short break with a half-assed song that will take in no new fans - Go to the top spot in Midweek's and then get beaten by an American rapper. Then the album the week after - - Then a brilliant 2nd single that will chart at #11. Thanks for reading. Edited November 28, 201014 yr by -Irish-Ladd-
November 28, 201014 yr I just want them to get an album that goes platinum, a lead single that doesn't plummet, a #1 single, no miming and hopefully an X-Factor performance.
November 28, 201014 yr Hey, how do ya know there's no 3rd single? Una has confirmed there will be no 3rd single at the moment when some fans met her.
November 30, 201014 yr In that case there'll probably be a new single in March/April and a second along with the album in Summer, and then a third in time for Christmas. Could work. I wonder if the Taio-produced song 'My Love' will be on there? It was meant to be a single last year so they must think it's decent enough...
December 1, 201014 yr In that case there'll probably be a new single in March/April and a second along with the album in Summer, and then a third in time for Christmas. Could work. I wonder if the Taio-produced song 'My Love' will be on there? It was meant to be a single last year so they must think it's decent enough... Are we even sure the track 'My Love' even exists? I remember Una tweeting that they'd never recorded a song called 'My Love' even though the source had come from breakfast2 on PJ which is usually reliable. Unless of course they were just trying to cover some tracks. Their next album could be potentially be their best since their debut I think. They've been working with some better-known producers.. Taio Cruz, Alphabeat not to forget their resident producer Steve Mac. I'm sure they've mentioned more producers but I have completely forgotten. Brain like a siv, me.
January 17, 201114 yr The Sats better have a few tricks up their sleeves for their next single as the power of multi-buying and first week sales may not get them anywhere... It's been confirmed that music will now go on sale to co-inside with it's radio premier starting from next month. So for example, If The Sats were to release their new record to radios next week, that would also mean it would go on sale on iTunes similtaniously. Their debut 'If This Is Love' (#8, 5wks top 40), 'Forever Is Over' (#2, 6wks) and 'Missing You' (#3, 7wks) are all prime examples of 'lead single fever' where it peaks on it's first week of release and drops rather quickly out of the Top 40, resulting in a short-lived single campaign, and low sales, despite a high peak. However this new sales model will most probabbly bannish such activity. That means we could start to see longetivity and supposidely higher sales too, but lower peaks. But when you look at it, that sounds familea. The Saturdays 3 biggest selling singles were all released after an album where the public had the opertunity and fredom to download the track from the album straight away as apposed to waiting for 6wks to be released after it's radio premier. Which is exactly what Universal and Sony are proposing to do, giving the public the opertunity to download straight away instead of waiting and illeagaly downloading it. Radio does seem to support The Saturdays, especially Radio 1 who have A-Listed all of The Saturdays singles so far (I think). The only hick-up this new model could chuck up is that if radio know the single isn't doing well on iTunes or whatever, they may choose not to support the single anymore, and without the radio support they'll need and be relying on, the single campaign could be dead and burried before a video or even promotion has even begun. The Saturdays do heavily rely upon televised promotion and if radios drop the track before they've had a chance to promote then the label may just drop the single altogether. It's all a bit confusing, and could swing either way, especially for those lead singles. I've been writing up the pros and cons of this new model but it's taking me too long and Pop Justice have a pretty good article about it all here and so do The Guardian, here So what do we think? Edited January 17, 201114 yr by 2ndAdventure
January 17, 201114 yr God, all I want from them is to release and promote Headlines! in all Europe. I think there's a serious lack/needing of an European girlband in today's industry, and I think The Saturdays are right now in the best position to become big. Like in Spain, for example, there's not been a big girlband with a fanbase since Spice Girls' days...couse you can't really put Pusycat Dolls in the same cathegory. Promoting Higher around March-summer will make marvelous for them! And then, maybe release the first single of the next album around September. But I really think 2011 can be THEIR year!
