I like covers and i love ellies goulding virsion, but i would prefer a non cover song to be number 1...

but when i think about it ellie deserves the number #1 it would be more benefitial to her than willow getting it shel have success else where + i heard they have now made ellies song a charity single if this is true

best comment in ages

First it was Poison and now this! I don't get this overreaction to such awful songs!

At last, move over for Ellie!!

i getb his over reaction, it does my head in the way young people over here buy this god awful american rnb/pop dirge every week when there are good original songs released that fail to get to no1.its like lets look and see whats no1 at the mo in america and get really excited about it even though the majority of it is absolutely terrible. imean its only in the past 2 years that the us charts have started embracing euro dance through david guetta mixing their tracks - just shows european/british music is so much better - be proud of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only person that thinks Ellie will get number one she had over a double pop bar from thu-sat !

not sure shes selling that much tho, its the other singles that are fading i think, shell be lucky to sell anymore than 65k this week

gutted coldplay is falling - imean i thought the fact its december would be enough to help it stay top 10, will be lucky to go top 10 next sunday now!!

willow gaining so fast :D soon infront off ellie... i would rather a song she wrote herself number 1 than a cover song

no harm but do you really think she wrote whip my hair herself???

would rather a song like ellies which has a xmassy feel to it be no1 than more bland us rubbish which will be gone and forgotten in no time!!

Infact Willow did write A LOT of 'Whip My Hair' herself & you just defeated your point saying Willow shouldn't be #1 because ''she didn't write her song'' and yet you want a COVER to be at the #1 spot..

100% agree. British music is way better than US! Probably because of media attention to us music industry is why us has took over uk charts. More and more artists from America become massive here. I know that the same thing was happening before but now is so over the edge! At least, in my area!

And well said by Peace about covers :D

i would rather ellie gouldings decent version of a classic like 'your song' to be no1 than a terrible new effort.nothing against the young girl but the song is terrible.how do you know willow wrote the song herself?? show me some proof and i might believe you!!

I think the Internet plays a big part in it. Songs like Poker Face and Airplanes went straight into the UK charts as album tracks with no (or almost no) radio airplay here because they got popular in the UK via the Internet.

i know its like if its no1 in america it will be scott mills record of the week!!

hopefully 2011 will see a return of rock music to the charts - give me 2004 compred to 2010 anyday.all the pop music just sounds the same.

To be fair, Scott Mills also made a European #1 his Record of the Week (and that alone got it top 20 on iTunes :o).

I'm very happy without the rock music though!!

I prefer British music too (by quite a lot), though a lot of people here seem to disagree.

Although, my favourite artist ever is from another country in Europe

definately!!pity the world is so globalised now, nobody has their own cultures anymore, nothing is unique.

nah im ready for a bit of rock to return now...just like by the time 2007 came i was ready for a bit of electro pop as the rock music had changed into terrible bands like scouting for girls being promoted!!

Right! Alongside media, it's internet! Too bad to see End of the Year charts full of US acts, at the time that a lot of UK acts got some good songs out!

I can't see Coldplay doing well this week, i can see them maybe climbing to around 13, there performing this on top of the pops special :)

I love the song, but Willow isn't one of the writers of the song... It's only Janae Rockwell and Ronald Jackson.

Willow Smith wrote the majority of "Whip My Hair", so yes, she IS that creative.

:o :o Really! She truly is massively talented!

True. Not only in sales, but I've noticed it's the UK #1s that've had really bad chart runs. Most of the US ones have spent a decent amount of time in the chart (except Beautiful Monster, probably), and a lot of them even climbed there, like OMG, Telephone, Club Can't Handle Me, Just the Way You Are and Airplanes.
