Poison doing so well irritates me but I suppose it was always going to do well. And I suppose Willow will do well next week too :puke:

On the other hand, it's great to see Afrojack and James Blake doing well - I'm not sure what was going on with James Blake earlier if he was supposedly as high as #32 but is now outisde the top 40, but the fact he looks set to even go top 100 is great. Most Radio 1 INMWT-List songs bomb to the pits of hell, the only ones I can think of that have even made the top 100 are Little Lion Man (which was a genuinely big but low-peaking hit despite very limited R1 support around the time of its release), In For The Kill (which got to #11 on INMWT-list support, then got removed from the playlist and re-added on the B-List after it got to #7 IIRC) and Darwin Deez's Radar Detector (#62, then it got moved up to the C-List, but was then removed as it abjectly failed to have lasting success).

TL;DR version - Limit To Your Love is incredible and it's great to see it charting at all, let alone nearly in the top 40. It'll be refreshing to hear it on the chart show as it's not the sort of thing that normally does well.

As for Afrojack, while I haven't actually heard Take Over Control I've heard enough of his other output to know he's definitely the sort of artist I'd like.

I'm surprised Alesha's new song is even doing as well as it is, maybe she can scrape in a 9th (?) top 40 hit. Of course it could do a Hang With Me, although I don't think that ever even got as high as Radio is now.

Who's That Chick? is quite low really :o Although it's had pretty much no airplay and it's climbing quite quickly. If it goes top 10 that'd mean Rihanna has *three* songs in there, that's absolutely incredible. When was the last time that even happened? I'd think The Beatles have done it a few times but I can't think of any other examples.

I wasn't expecting Afrojack to do too badly to be honest. I've been hearing it a few times on Floorfillers and stuff, and I think the song was on Clubland 18?
I don't think you're getting the point of what the poster was trying to say.

The general population is about 50% male, and 50% female (I think there's sligthly more females, but not a huge amount).

If there was absolutely no correlation between between gender and musical preference, then why are like 90% of JLS fans female?

He wasn't saying "All gay males only like pop music with female vocals", he was saying "In general, gay males seem to prefer pop music to certain other genres". There is evidence to support this. This very forum for one.

I wouldn't be offended if someone said "In general, straight teenage males seem to prefer rock music to RnB". I'm a straight teenage male, and I HATE rock music, but I'm very well aware that I'm a bit of exception. When I was at school, I was given a hard time by a few people for liking Rihanna. Spending every day around hundreds of teenagers who talk about music all the time, it was clear as day that there was a large degree of difference in musical preference between the genders. Whether there's biological reasons for this, or whether it's cultural, I do not know, but it could not have been more obvious that there was a difference.

Just because somebody has noticed that the average gay male seems to prefer pop music to the average straight male, it does not mean they're homophobic. Likewize, if somebody observes that the average straight male seems to prefer electronica to the average gay male, it does not mean they're heterophobic.

I dont think you are getting the point that this conversation was over 10 mintues ago and no offence but I dont need you to explain someone else point to me.

Oh yeah, and wasn't Afrojack in the low top 300 for a while a couple of weeks ago? I assume it was on some compilation and got made album only.
Its also full of small minded pricks who like to have a stereotypical opinion on people.

I don't think we need such generalisations, please.

I am gay and I am not one of 'those' that 'stans' over things like this. Believe it or not, gay people are as diverse as straight people

What do people mean by 'doing well here' and about buzzjack in general? This forum is full of so many different opinions there isnt one song or artist that is liked by everyone. WTF some of you people are mad. :coffee:

Im sorry but this forum does nothing but adhere to sterotypes. I dont know who is gay or not, dont really care, but I guess a large percentage are gay.

This forum is not representative of music at all, it supports mainly female artists like Lady Gaga, Cheryl Cole, Rihanna, Alexandra Burke Katy Perry etc. Popular male acts in the music industry are not well supported like Take That, JLS, Westlife, McFly, Taio Cruz, Tinie Tempah etc. All I can presume is that female acts are more popular is due to the high amount of gay men/teens on here.

Enough with the stereotypes over musical preferences really...

What are the chances of Ellie remaining #1 for the rest of the week?

Lets stop this argument. It was ended in piece, do not start it just to provoke an argument/fight again. That won't be the first time from you!

No, since the original arguement had nothing to do with you and was ended by one of us that was involved and brought back on to topic. This conversation has nothing to do with i-tunes. Its about stereotypical opinions and generalisations

Sorry. I started typing the post before the conversation had finished. :(

Its not an argument, its a debate that I was giving my opinion towards.

One of us? I though anyone could post in this thread or is it a select few?

Anyway I wont post about it again, obviously has hit a nerve with some people.

Nicole just out of the top 10 prior to her performance on X factor.

I see her top 3 after that! Hopefully in a top 2 battle with Ellie. I'm afraid the X Factor Finalists physicals can make them number 1 for another week though. :(

It was debate/arguement that went to far as usual. This topic is about i-tunes not about stereotypical opinions or generalisations.

Still a few hours to go, she's at #10 now and i expect just before her X Factor Performance she'll be somewhere in the top 5.

so glad nicole's doing well and it's wicked that she's gonna be on x factor to give her a huge boost

Poison should get a positive top 10 effect boost now, just before the x factor boost.
