Go Ellie, Kylie and XF

Kylie's doing great :o Especially as she's not even been playlisted by R1 (yet)

I don't get why the song is called 'Better Than Today' though? I could swear she never even says that in the song.

G6 only #16 :o That seems too low, I hear it all the time... although I suppose that's only R1 and it's not really Radio 2/4 etc. fodder :P

Heroes is doing very poorly, the other two X Factor charity singles both got to #1 on airplay or very close IIRC... can anyone verify that for me?

Ellie top 20 :D This is proving to be an enormous success for her, hopefully it's sold 100k this week

She says "Better than today" just before the chorus kick in

Neither of them got anywhere near number one.

Hero: 45-17-18-36-49-70

You Are Not Alone: 23-34-23-83

Oh :o Maybe I'm thinking of the winners' singles then

I think Better than Today contains lyrics along the lines of "We just want to make sure that tommorrow is better than today". But yeah, I'd expect it to be called something like "Get Up and Dance", or "Feel It", but titles like that have probably been used in a plethora of songs already, so at least she's gone for something a little bit different.

And do Radio 4 actually play any music? They talk about music, but it's usually obscure music that doesn't make the charts. I heard them discuss Nicki Minaj's and Kanye West's new albums on the news, where they were discussing why there were so many collaborations on them, and why collaborations have been becoming so popular in today's mainstream music. Only Radio 4 could make a news article about Nicki Minaj's album appeal to the middle class. I heard Dance in the Dark on Radio 4 once too, but that wouldn't count towards the airplay chart, would it? It was during a comedy, and there was someone speaking over it the whole time.

Radio 4 isn't a music station :P It just has debates, discussions - and then documentaries and its own programmes, dramas etc.. It even has its own soap! So it's a bit like a regular TV channel but through a radio. I'm not sure why anybody would bother with those kind of things without the visual aspect personally but obviously there's some interest there giving how long it's been going.

What did they say about collaborations, by the way? Sounds interesting.
