The WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD chart run of this continues. To return to the top 10 yet again when it's predictably the winner's song?

To recap for the year:

78-24-44-76-x(1)-4-11-20-17-27-19-9-12-9-

I really love this version of the song - but I am baffled as to how it's managed to have this much staying power. I understood it rising again when Rebecca sang it, but it's quite surprising that it's still there when the likes of 'Mad World' or 'First Time Ever...' or 'Stay' didn't do the same. Also a shame that a lot of people think she wrote it.

Bit ironic that Duffy fails to make the top 40 whilst a two year old single from Adele is constantly bouncing in and out of the top ten

Duffy won the battle but Adele has won the war...

I'll get my coat.

If that's a Fast Show reference I officially love you for watching the Fast Show.

If not, get out.

Hehe you're first guess is correct - is it ever on TV anymore??

Unlike those two songs, this, like Don't Stop Believin', is being absolutely hammered by commercial radio - and hence feels like just another current single rather than an old song having a resurgence. Particularly considering that those two were former #1's when this never originally went top 20.

Sminki pinki bang bang.

'Firework' such a feel good song! ^_^

Still not bored of it! My second favourite Katy song this era, only slightly behind 'TD'

Teenage Dream >> Firework >>>>>>>>> California Gurls

WMN only becomes good on the Drakeless version, which is odd as normally I'm the one thinking people on here are being ridiculously close-minded when they go 'EW, rap interlude, worst thing evah :puke::puke::puke:'. But no, Drake is simply terrible.

In any case, even the Drakeless version has nothing on Only Girl and Rude Boy

VERY good point.

forgot to mention it, but yes, Adele has outperformed Duffy singles wise this year, after it was vice versa in 2008, never thought that would happen

still like Firework ^_^

I'm not sure, I haven't seen it on the TV for over a year but I think it's still shown...

Quality show

Firework is growing on me and its quite catchy, her bad live performance on x factor had put me off.

I hope Take That hold top 6 but i have a feeling they are number 7.

Duffy won the battle but Adele has won the war...

Let the record show I predicted this would happen two years ago! Duffy's voice just isn't versatile enough and lent itself Mika-style far too easily to the 'of the time' syndrome...
