I pray your joking- it was one of the best selling singles of last year, with many acclaim and has spent god knows how many weeks in the top 100- hows that underrated?

I love all the posts laced with irony that Eric Blob has been posting for the last week

Yeah, I was joking about I Gotta Feeling being underrated. I like the song, but it is quite overrated, if anything. Like I think it deserved #1, but I would've thought it'd sell like 600,000, but now it's sold almost double that. I'm glad it did in a way though, as Poker Face being the best-selling digital of all-time would really annoy me. Again, Poker Face isn't terrible, but selling 1,000,000? I would think about 300,000 for it, with a chart run similar to Alejandro's.

But this is not up to me, clearly people really like those songs.

If Matt does win and

'Many Of Horror'

sells well, then that could give

Biffy Clyro

a big boost in sales too. Perhaps both versions could end up top 10, or at least top 20 for the latter?

I think Cher would be lucky if she has even half of Diana Vickers success.Cher is both unlikable and a very poor rapper. She is no where near the best female rappers or MCs in the country.Jessie J, Ms Dynamite, Alesha, Katy B show her up completely.I think even if will i am supports her career she will find it hard going.

I just hope Rebecca gets a good deal and some songs to suit her voice she was the best of the final four but still hope Matt does well long term.

Is there any truth to the rumours that X-Factor won't be returning until Jan 2012, or is Simon leaving the UK version in favour of the US?

I would be surprised if any of them did well long term. Rebecca probably has the best chance, but she has no star quality and the public will get bored of her very easily. Mind you, if she goes down the more dance-orientated route then that could be very interesting, but I'm expecting more of a UK version of Snorah Jones which will ensure she has one successful album but runs into pretty much diminishing returns after that. The latter will guarantee more sales faster so that's probably what will happen.

As for Cher, I can't see her doing much. She'd probably have a #1 debut single but I think she won't do much after that - a bit like Diana Vickers indeed. Maybe one or two more hit singles, a moderately successful album. Not bad but nothing ground-breaking. I would be stunned if she made it over to the US, even with will.i.am's support. The US generally has much more discerning taste in that kind of music and won't be so quick to lap up hype over Cher's "rapping" so I can't see her ever being more than a novelty-esque one-hit wonder there, and that's being very optimistic.

Matt's best chance is probably to do a Will Young, but he could completely sink like Steve Brookstein if he does that. But for the kind of artist he is a contract with Syco seems like a one-way ticket to nowhere. Still, at least he can reform his band if all else fails, I suppose :w00t: Basically I think it depends on if he can write hits.

I think Syco waits far too long to release the 2nd single. By the September rolls around, fans are more interested in the new crop of contestants.
