Who do you think will be the first #1 of 2011, I think its going to be Bruno Mars with Grenade.

I'm not sure about Cheryl just yet, I just think its too early to tell it might get push back. I love to see White Lies at #1 but I don't think it will happen.

I didn't add the X Factor winner as the single will be release this year.

I can't think of any others apart from the ones highlighted, unless anything big comes out.

Tbh I'd be over the moon if White Lies made top 20, top 40 shouldn't be out of reach though.
I'm going to guess Bruno Mars Grenade, at the rate its going, Cheryl could miss the top 10- unless she gets a last minute XF performance next week

I've only even *heard* of one of those!

(Cheryl's one, of course)

I've gone for 'other' as I believe that it will be either something we don't know yet, or a climber already around that will pick up momentum in the new year - maybe The Time, Poison or Like A G6. I can't see Grenade being a surefire #1 purely because of lack of anything else being around.

Poison? As in the song that's already down to #7 on iTunes? I can't see it.

The Time's best shot at #1 is this week and sadly the vile Willow thing will probably beat them.

LAG6 or Your Song could potentially climb to #1 in the New Year although YS might have fizzled out by then with the ad campaign ending etc.

Anyway, I voted for Grenade in the poll

There's a lack of 'Hello' by Martin Solveig in this poll that disappoints me greatly. :( Then again, it probably won't be #1 but be one of those infamous #2 January dance hits. ( :drama: ).

So the winner of X Factor is bound to be no. 1 on 02/01/11 regardless of whether it's a non number or climbs by default the following week (et la Steve Brookstein, Joe McElderry).

Of those tracks in the poll, Bruno Mars 'Grenade' seems like a possible future no. 1 followed by Adele scoring her first UK #1 single. The only other possible contender from that list is Ke$ha.

Mikey, do you really think Aggro Santos will be a contender? I've not heard the song admittedly but if his previous singles are anything to go off, I fail to see him ever going to no. 1 in any country.

Actually, I reckon Willow Smith could do a "Bad Romance" - #1 before Xmas then back to #1 in the first chart of 2011 when the Xmas/X Factor/anti X Factor campaign novelty wears off.

'Grenade' should get it, purely because it's the only song in that list that's any good AND has a decent shot at #1.

Unfortunately, White Lies' new song 'Bigger Than Us' isn't up to much but it would be brilliant if they could swing a #1 (quite a challenge, me thinks). Annoyingly, Cheryl's 'The Flood' could nab it from Bruno which would be both greatly disappointing and very expected.

Her Majesty & The Wolves have no chance, neither does Adele (the song is flawless, but it's three weeks after the first week of 2011, and even if the new releases before then don't sell as much as the X Factor winner, the winner's sales will decline anyway, paving a quickie #1 from Cheryl most likely).

So I choose 'Grenade'. This is of course, not taking into account the possibility that we could all be singing "A B-B-Bird, Bird, Bird" come Christmas Day. :nocheer:

Girls Aloud loonage ;) cough Kimberley Walsh cough, sorry got something stuck in my throat.

Grenade.

Brilliant song, should get Bruno his 2nd no.1.

I agree with others that the X Factor winner will nbe no.1 on the first week, especially if it's Matt or One Direction.

Girls Aloud loonage ;) cough Nadine Coyle cough. As Alicia Keys once said it doesn't mean anything.

I could see Like a G6 being #1 then, to be honest. I highly doubt Cheryl will manage it.

And I'm almost certain Ke$ha will get number-one when she's released.

Coupled with him being in I'm A Celeb. Although that hasn't helped people in the past, so it could go either way.

I think Bruno Mars - Grenade (although I haven't heard this song yet)
I can see Taio Cruz/ Kylie Minogue - Higher going to number 1. The vid on youtube says it's getting released on Jan 16th!
