Britney Spears Set To Release New Single “Hold It Against Me”

Song Will Debut Simultaneously At Radio And On The U.S. iTunes Store
At Midnight (EST) On January 11th

New York, NY - Britney Spears’ new highly anticipated song “Hold It Against Me” will premiere simultaneously on radio stations and be available immediately in the U.S. exclusively on the iTunes store, Tuesday, January 11th at 12AM EST.

“Hold It Against Me” is produced by Britney’s long-time collaborators Max Martin and Dr. Luke and is the official lead single from her forthcoming album. The as-yet-untitled seventh studio album is slated for release in March 2011 on Jive Records.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the song exclusively on the iTunes store until 1/18.

During her 12-year career, Britney has had five albums debut in the No. 1 position on Billboard 's Top 200 Albums chart, and she's had 24 Top 40 hits on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart. Globally, Britney Spears is one of the top-selling artists of the past decade, dominating charts with her albums, selling an astonishing 67 million albums worldwide. Her previous albums include: ...Baby One More Time (1999); Oops!... I Did It Again (2000); Britney (2001); In The Zone (2003); Blackout (2007); Circus (2008); and The Singles Collection (2009).

Well it was quite obvious that radio still wasn't allowed to play the song yet unless they wanted to be in a lot of trouble. Wasn't it?

 

Glad we will be able to buy the track on iTunes come Monday night/Tuesday!! :D So exciting! Interesting that it's only exclusive to iTunes for a week though... does that mean it will only be available to download for a week and then taken off I wonder? :unsure:

I think that means it will only be available on itunes for the first week? Which means it will probably be promoted like HELL on the main itunes page!

Ooh now that we've got an official press release, I'm really excited for this! :D Can't remember the last time there was this much hype around a song leaking ... probably Britney tbh :heehee:.
I guess ... but a demo leaked pretty early which wasn't THAT different so that killed it a bit. Saying that, I can imagine GaGa's next single leaking will be HUGE.

Bad Romance is what brought GaGa up to the next level. So no I wouldn't say she was up to Britney's hype with that one...

 

Her next single? Most definitely.

I'm not exxagerating but all music forums and sites are getting crazy over Britney demo :lol:

 

I really don't remember when it was last time when it was such a hype and buzz just over one demo.

It happened with the Circus single releases, we had to wait two months later than most countries for the Circus and If U Seek Amy singles, and look what happened, awful chart positions.

 

I say, make this limited download worldwide, let everyone bask in the brilliance of Brit.

I'm not downloading the album either.. After "Hold It Against Me" leaks, I'm avoiding all the Britney forums.

Yeah exactly!!! Why delay releases when they are already available? Once Hold It Against Me premieres, it will be all over the net, if (and it probably will) the UK release doesn't happen for a few weeks, then most people will just downoad illegally to get a copy.
