Given she was comfortably his equal last night, I wouldn't be surprised. I still think she'll do well.

I thought Will I Am was $h!te last night, there is NOTHING at all endearing about him, in his interviews and stuff I switch off

Definitely. I also reckon it'll be a lot quicker than the 18 month wait for Diana Vickers. I'll predict Cher will go away from this, do the X Factor tour, then record tracks with Will.I.Am and release her debut album in October next year. Simon will only be more than delighted to have Cher back as a guest performer. She'll have at least one UK #1 single in 2011. After that? Who knows...

Definitely, she be the new Fergie :o

Definitely, she be the new Fergie :o

That's what I was thinking last night when she was performing with will.i.am. I was also thinking that it would have been a much better duet if she had sung with Fergie!

This is defo another year when the winning act will flop in the long run. Rebecca has a different voice but has the personality of a grape. Matt just sounds like any old busker you would see in London and 1D can't sing. I suspect 1D will win, have a number 1 then be forgotten by next year.

I think the acts we will remember from this year are Katie, Cher and Wagner

What a BIZARRE show it was. It was all a bit of a shambles.

I was actually surprised to see Cher out first, because DIABOLICAL as her I Gotta Feeling duet was (seriously Will.I.Am? HOPELESS), I found myself enjoying her first performance despite myself. NEVER did I think I would be watching a mash-up of The Clapping Song with Missy Elliott on an X Factor final. I guess in the end though, it was all a little too niche for the masses of grannies and housewives at home. Oh and the fact that the girl was clearly a little bit of a c**t.

Rebecca had been my initial thought for 4th place, because after a KILLER semi-final, she seemed to completely disintegrate into dust this week. I don't know WHAT Cherly was thinking giving her Like A Star, a sure cure for insomnia recommended by GPs across and all over the county. If ever there was a time to try and find SOMETHING to force Rebecca to show a hint of personality or variety, this week was it.

And again, I don't know WHAT happened with the duet. Admittedly having a duet partner who didn't want to collaborate but to vocally humiliate an underling instead didn't help, but Rebecca seemed to forget half of her lines and just stood grinning and dribbling at Christina like a child.

Matt was also shaky. Here With Me should have been a good match, but he seemed to be trying to re-invent the tune during the chorus. And he really struggled hitting the higher registers with Unfaithful, bizarre given they are his usual strength. Big laughs at him noticeably being knocked off his feet by killer Rihanna. You just knew there was a huge tent backstage.

One Direction weren't bad, just totally nondescript and dull. Again they may aswell just chuck the other three and have Liam and Harry continue as a duo, because they're the only ones who do anything. Liam's opening notes to She's The One were positively PAINFUL, and sadly even their washed up, drugged up, shambolic duet partner managed to ooze a hundred times more stage charisma than them. Not that it will matter, because the legions of braindead teenage girls and braindead Tirren will ensure they coast their way to victory tonight.

THIS.

I also think she might release her debut album before the actual winner :o

Now that Cher is gone I hope One Direction win. They could make good pop songs.

Matt and Rebecca are no where near as good as everyone thinks they are. They were completly over shadowed by Rihanna and Christina last night. And both of them do the same thing week in week out with no originality.

The only positive thing about Matt 'I don't want to go back to being a painter' Cardle winning would be the hope that his careers follows the same path as Joe McElderrys.

Isn't this becoming the norm now though? I mean the runner up, third runner up, fourth runner up having a number 1 hit, in addition to the winner. Whatever happened to Simon's ONLY THE WINNER will get a recording deal. In a few years time (if this show survives - and why not? It's cheaper than putting on a good drama series) we'll probably find the 'judges' house' persons ... even one or two 'boot-camp' stagers having top 10 hits. And before you know it ... the whole top 30 will be filled with the spawn of satan.

Why does Simon say he wants to do his own Top Of The Pops? He already does!

Back to the show ... I want Matt to win because as much a I like Rebecca ... I DO NOT want Cheryl to have a third win on the trot (especially as Cheryl has put so little time into Rebecca - she's done all she can to sabotage one of her own acts for the benefit of another) and One Direction - who are just - I'm trying to find the word. Oh yes! Sh/te!

I woke up this morning and thought, given the level of "love" that there appears to be for them (read: girls screaming) One Direction will probably win this. Then again, that will be fine by me as they've at least picked a good song for their winner's single, but they all have really. The only thing I'm sure of is that Rebecca will not win tonight. Sadly.

SHUSH. My rationale goes as follows: there is nothing wrong with One Direction that auto-tune cannot solve, and frankly they're the sort of group that would be NOTHING on their own and without SyCo. Rebecca and Matt with the SyCo treatment would be utterly dreadful (and, indeed, Rebecca with any record label is likely to be dreadful Mothers' Day fodder, whereas Matt is more likely to only be MD fodder with SyCo) as those are two acts who could really use some artistic freedom (Matt in particular). One Direction, however, are an empty vessel that could be made into whatever (MD market aside) and probably succeed in the long run - even if Joe McElderry's treatment showed nothing else, it at least showed that SyCo is now capable of finding good material for solo males intended to appeal to the gays and girls (the only problem was that Joe himself didn't really appeal to either to win), so I'm fairly confident that I would actually enjoy a One Direction album under SyCo whereas I doubt Rebecca's likely to come out with the next Bleeding Love. Matt on the other hand I FEAR, having seen what they did with Olly Murs. Obviously it won't be the same, but sweet Christ I'd rather not take the risk of getting something at all similar to cater to Matt's fucking 'rock voice'...

I don't really think so - we had Chico who came 5th back in the day with a #1 and we've only had Diana Vickers since. The runner up I'd say isn't that bad - just think of Gareth Gates back in the day. JLS and Olly aren't really outside the norm for that reason, but after Laura White's failings I don't think we'll see that level achieved any time soon - unless Simon wants something to do with them, I doubt they'll actually make much of an impact on the charts.

Personally I don't want Rebecca to win, it just be another drippy wet bland ballad at #1, and One Direction, as they look like a mini version of Westlife and I'm not really keen on them doing Forever Young.

I just hope Matt wins to wipe Cheryl's smug face, as she end up winning the show for a third time running, plus he has the better Winners track, which would make a better #1.

At the end of the day all the final 4 acts are going to get some sort of record deal, and Cher will end up walking over the winners track next year, her material is recent and more up to date which is current in the singles chart. If you look back when Cher was booted out last night, she didn't care much over it. I think Will.I.Am had words with her behind closed doors.

Every time you said who you wanted to win, it was all about "I want Cheryl to be upset etc etc" ... Surely it's not the right way to look at it. It won't change Cheryl's life in the slightest, but it could have a big impact on the contestants's life and on music charts (I know I don't want One Direction or Matt 'sceaming cat' Cardle at #1 for Christmas).

I know I want Rebecca to win because : 1) she is AMAZING 2) 'Distant dreamer' would be the best number 1 ever. And I would back her even if Louis was her mentor.

Did will i am not take the reigns when Nicole Scherzinger attempted her first crack at a solo career and that ended in failure, his work with Cheryl has been poor.I think he will hardly manage to work wonders with Cher as she is a poor singer and rapper. There are too many brilliant young UK female rappers who are going to be huge next year that they will make Cher look like the amateur she is.Jessie J, Cherri V, Rough Daiamondz,Ms Dynamite, Katy B.

So are they getting rid of one after their first song so we only get to hear 2 winners singles? I really hope not as I can see Rebecca coming third & I NEED to hear her version of my favourite Duffy song 'Distant Dreamer' :(..

Also do we have any idea about what is being performed first? Is it audition songs?
