As of late ive been loving songs in instrumental form (Ellie Gouldings 'starry Eyed', Nicole Scherzingers 'Poison', Rihannas 'Only Girl). Do you think the record companies could come together and release a compilation cd of the biggest top 40 instrumental hits?

Do you think it could work?

How often should they be released?

What songs would you like to see on them?

These are the ones i play on a constant basis:

Sugababes - Get Sexy

Lady GaGa - Poker Face

David Guetta - Sexy Chick

Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend

Nelly Furtado - Say it right

Bobby Valentino - Anonymous

Guru Josh Project - Infinity 2008

Fergie - Glamorous

Aaliyah - We need a resolution

The Saturdays - Ego

Timbaland - Apologize

Linkin Park - Numb

Pharrell Williams - Frontin

Dr Dre - The next episode

Warren G - Regulate

Lady GaGa - Bad Romance

Jay sean - Down

Chris Brown - Run It

Jada - American Cowboy

Enrique Iglesias - I like it

Usher - DJ got us fallin in love

Calvin Harris - I'm not alone

Dizzee Rascal - Holiday

Rihanna - Only Girl

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed

Nicole scherzinger - Poison

Flo Rida - Club cant handle me

Silicone Soul - Right On

Luke Dzierzek - Echo

Now that's what I call karaoke.

Winning idea

If you love instrumental songs then why don't you listen to actual instrumental songs rather than songs with the vocals taken out?

I do that too. Plus i like the challenge lol. Can u suggest some good instrumental songs?

None of those are real instrumental songs. Heres some examples of real ones:

Doop - Doop

ATB - 9PM

Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400

Darude - Sandstorm

Eric Prydz - Call on Me

Eric Prydz - Pjanoo

Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano (when you take the 10 seconds of vocal out)

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand

Swedish House Mafia - One

Avicci - Bromance

All instrumental seem to be dance.

My mp3 player seems to be half instrumentals. I have songs like Telephone, Commander, Jai Ho, Alejandro, etc. as instrumentals, just because I think the vocals subtract from the song. It's mainly the hip hop songs where I keep the vocals in, and even then, some of them have such incredible beats that I have an instrumental version of them too (e.g. No Love).

I completely agree. It gives it another dimension to that song. For me Ellie Goulding's instrumental of starry eyed 'blows my mind'. Thats also the reason why i bought vinyl versions of songs as they had the radio edit, acapella and instrumental version. As you can tell im a massive dance fan lol

As for acts like darude and european dj's, i bought their albums (Before The Storm, Rush, Label This!). My favourite from darude is 'The drums of New York'. Down right awesome :cheer:

To add to that list:

Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner - Animal Rights

Armand van Helden & Steve Aoki - Brrrat!

Plus the whole of Deadmau5's album except 3 songs are instrumentals. Right This Second is amazing!

Basement Jaxx's "Good Luck" would work far better as an instrumental. I've never been able to find it without lyrics though. Heartbreaker by MSTRKRFT could easily work without any vocals, although I'm not sure if I'd prefer it.

Simian Mobile Disco - Sleep Deprivation is a great instrumental.
