Given that there's just one version at #155 in the iTunes chart at the moment, is it possible he's exaggerating a wee bit?

Or is he picking up substantial sales from elsewhere?

 

I've seen the guy live, by the way. He's pretty funny if you can cope with the gross vulgarity and childishness of the act. His songs are quite witty.

Rather an underestimate for Matt - I think his total sales at close of play will be around 450k even allowing for adverse weather

 

I bet Em/Ri fans are hoping the snow prevents people buying Matt's physical single until January, so the sales would count towards 2011 YTD's, not 2010... :P

lol - ain`t going to happen though - people will always struggle out to the supermarket and all the major ones have heaps of his CD prominently displayed. Yesterday in our Tesco people were buying 5 and 6 copies of it !

Seriously though, I can just about understand people doing that for a charity single, but why on earth for just an XF winner's one?

Because the CD contains 3 of his best performances including the stand out performance of the whole series (First Time). Even if people don`t like When We Collide they will buy it just for that (I know at least 6 people who have). Good move by Syco.
