OMG wasn't that bad. Lots of autotune, samples Boom Boom Pow, what more could we want. :D

That cheering noise that goes through the song was pretty annoying though, although it sounded awesome the first 20 times I listened to it. There's some incredible remixes of this song, seriously! It's actually a really complex composition of music.

OMG was seriously overrated- I wouldn't have minded had it not been so big and hung around the top 40 for what felt like an eternity, but it was generic and boring, we've heard this about a dozen times before- sure it was catchy and the stars were big- but its success baffled me and still does
OMG is just terrible, like everything Usher has done post-Yeah! (which was absolutely incredible, to be fair, but that doesn't excuse the shower of $h!t that's followed).

It's not that I hate OMG, it's just SO average and pedestrian. It's album filler and a 6/10 moment at best. He's had so, so much better in the past, yet this is his biggest selling single to date...the mind boggles.

It's like people latched onto this in the short absence of the Black Eyed Peas, and any old will.i.am feature would do. I do wonder if Check It Out had come out before this whether that would have been the huge smash and this would have ended up being the also-ran.

To be fair, I suspect Yeah! would have probably sold more than OMG if it hadn't been released in the horrible sales climate of 2004. It was one of the bigger hits of the year - with 7 weeks in the top ten (which would probably rack up sales of about 400k in those weeks alone these days, more than Yeah! sold in its entire run back then )

Too bad it's impossible to compare considering the difference in chart runs due to the never-ending availability and tingz :(

I don't think OMG's success was too baffling, though - the crowd chanting and 'clapping' beat are rather catchy. The production is very boring though, compared to Yeah! which is immense.

Oh indeed, but even in decent sales climates he had some great music out which sold a lot lot less than this - 2001's U Remind Me for example!

True but hundreds of similar songs are available on countless albums, they just never get released. I'm not saying that it was shockingly successful, as it definitely goes down well in a club, but so would so many other songs given half a chance. It just seemed very throwaway and 'this will do' just because there weren't really any other big similar club type songs being promoted at the time. If it had been out at the same time as I Gotta Feeling, I doubt it would have been half as big...It just doesn't go anywhere at all, it's more of an extended chant than a song :drama:

I do think OMG is good aswell, but a couple of months ago it was YTD #2, and I was thinking "It's good, but really?".

However, some people have given it really good reviews. I've been reading a few "Best songs of 2010" countdowns by critics, and OMG got #1 in at least 2 of them, and has scored high in many others. I'll see if I can find them again.

But again, I've listened to so many fantastic remixes of OMG over the year. It made me appreciate how complex the song actually is, but even then, I still think it's good, but overrated. Sort of like Bad Romance and I Gotta Feeling. They're decent, but you do raise an eyebrow once you see they've sold 700,000 copies, and they're still going strong.

What is Buzzjack's Most Hated Song of 2010?

Dizzie Rascal & James Cordan - Shout

Jls - The Club Is Alive

Professor Green - I need You Tonight

Justin Bieber- Baby

Black Eyed Peas - Dirty Bit.

I like I Need You Tonight. :(
Why is She Said by Plan b at number 20?? It's fantastic and Plan B is so talented! Whatever <_<

Wow. If could've probably easily guessed the top 5 tbh.

And it's a shame to see The Time up there. It's fantastic. :(

Heroes was OK, but generally bland and uninspiring, Start Without You was stupid and cheesy, it sounded like a five year old wrote and composed it, Replay was just generic, throwaway crap, Jedward's cover of All The Small Things was awful, they butchered that song, although I do kinda like them in a novelty sort of way

thats a good top 5, although I kind of like I Need You Tonight

ideally the top 5 would be 'shout', 'we no speak americano', 'omg', 'forget you' and 'she said', but suppose not. at least we've still got 'shout' to go, that for number 1 please.

05. Professor Green - I Need You Tonight 76points [peak #3]

I think it'll go:

1. The Club is Alive

2. Baby

3. The Time

4. Shout

although I'm usually wrong about this sort of thing. I would've expected Need You Tonight to come higher than 5th, but I'm pleased it didn't. :)
