September 7, 201113 yr Just watched the latest episode, it was alright but nothing special. Kinda nice to have an episode that wasn't related to the main story arc. Although I can't help but feel it's a bit strange, if I was Amy I'd be going and going at the doctor about saving my baby not running off beating the boogie man. September 7, 201113 yr Although I can't help but feel it's a bit strange, if I was Amy I'd be going and going at the doctor about saving my baby not running off beating the boogie man. This episode was the 4th episode produced and was supposed to take place before it was revealed that Amy was flesh.

September 7, 201113 yr I watched the last episode as my first post-Christopher Eccleston Doctor Who. I wish I hadn't bothered. But Matt Tenant is HOT!

September 8, 201113 yr I think the major issue with Night Terrors was, as others have said, it was a great build up of tension but it ultimatley came to nothing and an all too easy and confusing conclusion. That said, 'The Girl Who Waited' looks set to be alot better, the Doctor-lite episodes are always ace (except Love And Monsters)
September 9, 201113 yr Was thinking about the current series earlier and came to the conclusion that whilst I am enjoying it and quite easily capable of following what is going on that there may be a small problem with it. Thing is my 7 year boy loves Doctor Who but I have to spend an awful lot of time explaining what is going on with the whole River/Melody, Amy/Flesh and various other story arcs that it is just too complicated for a large part of it's younger core audience. He still enjoys it but sometimes would rather do something else because it's just too confusing for him. It's all very clever and involved but sometimes too much for it's own good. He's a bright kid and has no trouble following things like Star Trek DS9 and other dialogue driven sci fi shows but this latest series jumps around so wildly that I feel they're in danger of alienating a large section of youger viewers. On a side issue picked up Genesis Of The Daleks DVD today for £3. Still one of the best ever Who stories!
September 10, 201113 yr Genesis <3 Where did you get it for £3 Severin? :o From a 2nd hand dvd store in Brighton. Great condition too. Sorry I can't recommend a supr good internet deal

This. Really, this. The writing feels like they're shoving everything in (and I don't know what it is, it feels a bit amateurish, almost fanfic-like), and it's gotten to the point where there are too many plot threads. They need to rescue this soon. Preferably with some reasonable, but amazing resolution that doesn't feel like a cheap deux ex machina to get them out of a corner. I'm coming away from the series thinking that some of these episodes aren't well thought through in retrospect. I enjoyed the Flesh and the pirate episodes, but the rest have felt too try-hard, particularly the main arcs. And good on your son for being able to follow DS9. That's a show I'd imagine is quite hard for young kids to fully grasp, although, it's absolutely amazing when you get it. I grew up on Next Gen, and then watched DS9 later. Still love it. Anyway, I shall be watching this weeks episode tomorrow some point. Can't even remember much from the preview last week. I'm hoping it'll be good, as I always should, heh. September 10, 201113 yr Wow, this is definitely the best episode of this season so far, for me. I'm in COMPLETE love with Old Amy, and I'll admit that I got rather teary near the end. :(
September 10, 201113 yr now that was a really good episode, it's just what I like about Dr Who - an original idea, suspenseful and surprisingly emotional! Next week's looks interesting too Edited September 10, 201113 yr by C.W
September 10, 201113 yr I absolutely loved it, it was nice to see an emotional episode that felt genuinely emotional unlike a lot of emotional Who episodes which feel like it's shoehorned in for dramatic effect. I've always liked Amy, but tonight I thought she was fantastic, especially older Amy.
September 11, 201113 yr That was great. Emotional. It really worked. That's made me feel a whole lot more positive about the series. Next week looks great as well.
September 11, 201113 yr Superb episode this week. It was a genuinely clever, but also relatively simple, idea - the kind Doctor Who can do so well when it tries not to be overly complicated and intelligent for the sake of it. One of the most emotional Dr Who episodes I've seen too.
