December 19, 201014 yr Author http://australian-charts.com/forum.asp?tod...4589&pages= Gavin Ryan's Chartifacts (Thanks to Gavin Ryan) Singles Bruno Mars keeps his hold at No.1 on the ARIA Singles Chart this week with his second No.1 single “Grenade”, now doubling the single week that his previous chart-topper, “Just the Way You Are” (TW-14) spent at the top. But again knocking at the No.1 door is Guy Sebastian’s “Who’s That Girl”, which climbs back to it’s former No.2 peak it achieved two weeks ago. Guy’s climb pushes the former No.1 “The Time (Dirty Bit)” by The Black Eyed Peas down a place to No.3, but the rest of the Top 5 is stable with Katy Perry at No.4 with “Firework” and Chris Brown at No.5 with “Yeah 3x”. Ke$ha climbs back up one place to No.6 with “We R Who We R”, swapping places with Far East Movement’s “Like a G6”, which is at No.7 this week. Also swapping places are No.8 and No.9, with P!nk’s “Raise Your Glass” up one place to No.8 and Rihanna’s “Only Girl (in the World)” down a place to No.9. Joining the Top 10 at No.10 this week, plus scoring her fourth Top 10 entry is Jessica Mauboy with “Saturday Night”, up four places from last week. Her last Top 10 single was back in June 2009 when the track “Because” debuted at No.9. NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: If Rihanna falls out of the Top 10 with her former No.1 single “Only Girl” next week, it could be replaced by one of her other current questionable Top 20 tracks, as her vocals on David Guetta’s new single “Who’s That Chick” jumps five places to No.12, and she also enters the Top 20 at No.18 with the new single from her “Loud” album “What’s My Name”, which climbs three places this week. Good Charlotte again climb a few places with “Sex on the Radio”, up two places to No.28, and after bouncing around the lower forty for awhile the Swedish House Mafia climb to a new peak of No.31 with “Miami 2 Ibiza”. Wynter Gordon claims the biggest Top 50 jump this week, as her dance track “Dirty Talk” zooms up seventeen places to land at No.32. More dance tracks follow behind Wynter, with Afrojack and Eva Simons’ “Take Over Control” up six places to a new peak of No.34, and Martin Solveig and Dragonette’s “Hello” is up five places to No.36. Flo Rida’s “Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) debuted at No.34 four weeks ago, and this week it climbs back up the chart eleven places to No.35. The highest new entry of the week comes from U.S. singer Alexis Jordan and her debut single “Happiness”. Alexis was a semi-finalist in the first ‘America’s Got Talent’, and after being eliminated she started writing material and posting it on the web, where she got the attention of Jay-Z who signed her to his Roc-a-Fella subsidiary StarRoc (through Columbia). “Happiness” has peaked at No.1 on the U.S. Dance Chart and scored a No.3 on the UK Charts, and her debut album will also be entitled “Happiness” and is due in the first quarter of 2011. Michael Jackson’s 56th chart entry and first posthumous Top 50 entry debuts at No.37 entitled “Hold My Hand”, and is a duet with Akon. The track was originally recorded by Akon for his 2008 album “Freedom”, of which Michael had added guest vocals to make it a duet, but the track was pulled from the album due to it being leaked online. Michael wrote that the track should be the first single from his then-to-be-released new studio album, but that didn’t come to pass due to his death. Now IT IS the first single from his new album “Michael” which debuts at No.10 this week. Four weeks ago My Chemical Romance debuted at No.10 with their latest album “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” (TW-41), and now the first official single released from that album enters the singles chart, debuting at No.47 is “Sing”. I said first ‘official’ single, as the albums first radio single was the fast-paced “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)”. The second single from The Scripts second album “Science & Faith” (TW-43) debuts at No.53 entitled “Nothing”. The first track from the album “For the First Time” re-enters the Top 50 this week at No.49. Neon Trees score a new peak in the lower T100 by jumping twenty-one places to No.57, and Justin Bieber’s “Pray (Acoustic Version)” climbs three places to No.91 for the only other new peaking track in the 51-100 section. Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” is the biggest leaping track of the week, as it jumps thirty-four places to No.63 helped by their current national tour. The group also score a re-entry with their 2000 No.5 single “It’s My Life”, which is back in at No.81 this week. Albums P!nk makes it five weeks at the top of the ARIA Album Charts with her “Greatest Hits… So Far”, keeping Bon Jovi off the top spot (even though they’re touring here), as they climb back up one place to No.2 with their “Greatest Hits” collection, which swaps places with Susan Boyle’s “The Gift”, down to No.3 this week. 3-4-5 has how the “Glee The Music Volume 4” album has moved, this week it’s at the No.5 spot, whilst Ronan Keating’s “Duet” album holds at No.6 this week. Guy Sebastian scores the only new peak in the Top 10 this week, as his greatest hits collection “Twenty Ten” climbs two places to No.7. The Black Eyed Peas hold at No.8 with their new album “The Beginning”, and Taylor Swift drops four places to No.9 with her “Speak Now” album. 2010 X-Factor winner Altiyan Childs scores the highest new entry of the week as his self-titled album debuts at No.4. Lead single from the album “Somewhere in the World” debuted at No.8 four weeks ago, and is up two places this week to No.23.
