I love Jessie J and 'Price Tag', but I'm worried, because the single version is featuring B.o.B. It doesn't need a rapper! I hope it's not ruined. :(

Do songs ever really need a rapper (California Gurls, Start Without You etc.)? I don't mind B.o.B's part, not as bad as Tinie Tempah on the new version of 'E.T'.

Hardly any songs need a rapper.

Btw, the single version with B.o.B had its radio premiere on New Year's Day, on the Big Top 40 Show. I'm judging by your post that you haven't heard it yet. :D

It's a beautiful song. It reminds me of Where is the Love? by the Black Eyed Peas, which is most certainly not a bad thing. I can see it getting to #1 tbh.

Hasn't it been said before that adding a rapper would give it wider appeal? Rap fans who might only buy it because of the rap....

But 'Price Tag' is really amazing, I hope it can become a #1

Just listened to 'Price Tag' and is far better than 'Do It Like A Dude'. Agree that it rips off the chord structure of 'Where Is The Love?' - you can actually sing the entire Black Eyed Peas song over the top and it fits perfectly. I'm sure there'll be a mash up of the two tracks within weeks.

Actually this probably will be a strong contender for #1. Releasing the single the week of the Brit Awards would be a good move as the extra TV coverage will promote the song.

Hopefully. That would be the most gorgeous song ever.

EDIT: I did a google search, because I was interested, and I think a few other people have noticed it too:

Jessie J already showed how creative and talented she is with her debut single “Do It Like A Dude” but with this new song featuring B.o.B she truly proves to the nay-sayers how talented she is and how great of a voice she really has. Side Note Kind of has a similar sound and flow to the Black Eyed Peas hit, “Where Is The Love?” Props to A&B Mag

If you guys were not sold on the extremely talented Jessie J when I posted her debut single, Do It Like A Dude, a couple of weeks ago, this will surely make you sway her way. I mean, to be honest her previous release felt a bit overproduced which resulted in drowning her vocals in the mix, but this song is definitely the other end of the spectrum.

Don’t you think that Price Tags has a sort of a Where Is The Love? [black Eyed Peas]vibe? Not only that, but it sure does have the approachability and light-hearted pop flavour to it too.

It's out March 17th, a bit after the Brits.

Love all the 'Price Tag' talk. Infact I really like the B.O.B addition, it goes well but the video you have posted Eric Blob is fastened up to those thinking it was a bit fast, the version I have is a bit slower and calmer. Hope it can get to #1, its just fantastic.

I didn't realise you'd posted a video link in the BBC Sound of 2011 thread for 'Price Tag'. It sounds fairly decent on first listen and even if it's released in March, I'm sure the record company will be aiming for a massive first week push (well, aren't they all these days? ). Let's hope the video for 'Price Tag' isn't as embarrassingly try hard as 'DILAD' is.

Oh, is it? :manson: Hate it when this happens on YouTube as people try to get around copyright. I get used to hearing the song "wrong" then when I hear it "right" for the first time, I'm struggling to adapt.

:o

Oh no, I think it's perfect as it is in that video, but now I find out it's actually a bit slower :(

I've listened to the version of Price Tag that Eric posted, the only other version I found was the live version with Jools Holland which was acoustic but slower - anyway, generally I really liked it, even though the music was a blatant rip off of Where Is The Love  a huge improvement on the chav-fest Do It Like A Dude and I think it could be a number 1 or Starry Eyed-type hit

It's probably good that she's released two completely different songs as her lead singles though. Like it shows she can do more than one type of song (I would say genre, but I can't figure out what genre Jessie J actually is ).
the combined ones are useful, Sabrina so yeah, continue with them ^_^

Muse's songs have incredible longevity in the itunes chart overall even though their initial chart runs are bad :o - I guess their just getting the gift card effect even though they aren't 2010 songs

Feeling Good is on an advert, may be Virgin Media but not totally sure.

Upstairs, Downstairs had a version of Feeling Good on its trailers on the BBC, but its wasn't Muse. Still could have helped.

Martin Solveig and Dragonette up to #38. Better be top 40 on Sunday for the sake of dance music.

What's My Name has a nice lead, i like Matt & his version of When We Collide but kind of hoping it drops quite a bit so Rihanna can make #1. (and hopefully still be #1 with Loud, do the double.)

Looking at sales, i think Ri has it in the bag for sunday.

Want Only Girl back in top 10 on iTunes, still there combined but want one in there.

Hope Invincible climbs officially, #15 for 2 weeks if i'm not mistaken, but up 22 for his album this week to #4 :o :D

Who's That Chick #7 :w00t: Is the video being shown yet??

Light's On up to #5 :puke:

Your Song sticking around so well :o

Do it Like a Dude #12, could this make top 10 in a few weeks? Slow burner!

rihanna probably number 1 this week then, also 3 songs in the top 10 again. if loud holds onto number 1 it will be one of the best weeks for an artist ever.

Do It Like A Dude  11

This song definitely gets better with each listen, I'm starting to like it :)

28 & 100 for miss Cheryl Cole in her official week? That would be an amazing flop especially if she peak lower than Nadine

Sweet Disposition at 85 :D Has it been top 100 in previous weeks? Wonderful song
